I am thrilled to have participated in a unique Steampunk-themed adventure--an unlikely fusion of a magical fantasy with sci-fi concepts containing industrial-aged traits. The setting is presented in a retro-futuristic style through the use of mechanical robots, brass contraptions, steam-powered flying machines, and other impractical alternative technologies for the time--referring to analog computers with screens. There are some fantastical cliches strewn in, such as wizardry, potion-making, and peculiar creatures, although these aspects are scantily emphasized. The characters are caricature-like in appearance, and this approach complements the eccentric ambiance of the storyline. I adore the quirky Steampunk fashion, with related attire including: the golden one-eyed goggles, jackets with embroidery, and high-top boots. The quality of the graphics could use some tweaking to sharpen up the clarity of details, but the coloration is bright and lively to evoke a more pacifying environment. You can customize your settings. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. You can lock your bar into place to keep the bar consistently open. The teleport map enables smooth travel to desired locations and indicates what your next goals are--meaning the locations in which you can effectuate a task. Tasks are regularly updated; the back button will obviate unnecessary backtracking. The developer has finally added some variation to the HOSs, and my favorite format is included: "progressive silhouette" or otherwise known as "find and use." The puzzles are varied and suit the storyline. You are not given a journal, but you read a multitude of collected pieces of information to keep you apprised of the story; tap everywhere because some informative materials are lying low on the ground. You have your Hint and Skip buttons, which are adjustable in custom mode. Upon conclusion of the main game, you are treated to a Bonus Chapter, as well as some Extras. From a contrasting perspective, there are a copious amount of negative aspects that obliterate a robust feeling of satisfaction, including the following: 1. The speech of the characters does not always match the written dialogue. 2. The mechanics are a bit awkward; you will need to tap the screen to activate a cut-scene instead of it doing it automatically. 3. Some of the HOSs are glitchy when combing inventory with an object within the scene; I had to toil to find that specific magic spot to receive a response to my touch input. 4. Many of the puzzles are erroneously programmed because my correct solution was not accepted until after a dozen or so tries, resulting in extreme vexation. 5. A few times, the coloration changed over to black and white when transitioning in and out of cut-scenes, as well as interacting with inventory. 6. The app description states that there are collectibles, but I saw absolutely none; I clicked everywhere, so I'm sure that I would have come across some if there were any incorporated. 7. Even with the bonus content, the length of the game is short; I finished playing all of the content in one sitting. All-in-all, these irksome quibbles greatly add up and might preclude one from playing this game. My true rating is 3.5 stars to reflect the positive components; but, unfortunately, I am lowering my rating to 3 stars due to the programming flaws, which are unacceptable considering the outright purchase price. Come on, developers! This could have been a memorable treasure; but like some of your other games, you need to rectify these glitches before releasing flawed products!
