Don't time your contractions by hand, let Labor Signs handle it for you!
Labor Signs is a contraction timer app designed for pregnant moms-to-be. Use Labor Signs to track your contractions as you approach active labor. It will indicate when it might be time for you to head to the hospital or contact your midwife.
Timing Contractions
When timing contractions, it is important to note the duration and frequency of your contractions. The duration is the time from the start to the end of your contraction. The frequency is the time from the start of a contraction to the start of the next contraction. As you approach active labor, your contractions will become more regular lasting about 50 - 70 seconds and about 5 minutes apart.

I'm using this to time my contractions as we speak. It's easy to use and have a nice user interface. What I really appreciate, however, is the different display you can select at the bottom that lets you see the average duration and frequency for different time periods - Latest Contraction, Last Five Contractions, Past Hour Contractions, and All Time. This makes keeping tabs on when my contractions are close enough together to go to the hospital easy.
The only problem with this app is that you can't stop timing between contractions - if you stopped keeping track or it's been an afternoon in between, it will still factor all this time into your averages and mess up your All Time data.

My favorite Labor App
As a birth worker, I really like this app. The ability to see the contractions in a list is priceless for your doula or midwife to determine a true pattern emerging. I also appreciate that it is free and accessible to all parents!

Does not time long contractions
I’m having contractions over 4 minutes and this does not time or keep track of when the contraction started. Stupid app. I will be deleting it and using another. I need it to keep the start of every contraction even if i forget to stop it. And it can not tell me what I’m feeling is an invalid contraction. What I’m feeling is me contracting and it is not recording it.

Simple and effective
Large center button for contraction starts and stops made it easy for me to time contractions myself. I'm lucky enough to have two homebirths, and this app makes it easy to send a clear, detailed email update on my progress to my midwife so she easily knows when she should come over. The email includes contraction log with time, duration, and intensity of my contractions. It also shows summary of the last five contractions, and past hour contractions. Great free app, using it again for my third baby (any day now!).
S.LionHeart,
Best contraction app!!
I love this app!! It has the best UI, and the most features, out of any other app! It tracks not only duration, but frequency, as well as the STRENGTH of your contractions. Very easy to use, not confusing. You can even export a detailed email instantly to send to your doctor/midwife/doula. It also has a section where you can list your care provider and emergency contact numbers and call from clicking directly within the app! This app is everything!
Nom nom nommy nom,
Basic, convenient, but clear issues
"Support and feedback" as well as the Share link DO NO WORK.
It's also a bummer that if you start timing a contraction but forget to stop it, it erases it completely, while the most important part of the timing is when it started! It would be nice if it would at least log the start time, and either make it 0 sec duration or stop at 2 min?
U r sweet,
Best one yet!
I’ve tried other apps. Deleted multiple and finally gave this a try. Thank goodness I did. It’s super worth it. User friendly. Keeps a good history of my contractions. Highly recommended. Other apps have a lot of reviews but aren’t even worth downloading.
JLaneLane,
Got me to the hospital on time
I timed my contractions for two days with this app. It's absolutely perfect! It keeps track of everything very neatly and is easy to use.

Very User Friendly
I tried a couple contraction timer apps before this. This is my favorite. Easy to use and track contractions.
Lily yogi mama,
Worked great
Just used this for my son's birth. Was easy Nd convenient to use, no irritating pop up ads
