The chronograph era is over.
This application allows a user to communicate with a Labradar through a bluetooth connection in order to view and manage his shooting data the same way he can from the Labradar device itself. The features this application includes are :
1. Create and delete series
2. Manage the Labradar settings such as units, radar settings, trigger settings, distance settings and shot related settings (such as projectile weight and offset)
3. Receive the shots on the phone or tablet when the Labradar is armed, in real-time.
4. Convert the data to be displayed in the user's preferred scale units of measurement
In addition to those features, it also displays statistics of the series/shots along with graphs displaying various aspect of the data such as the velocity, power factor or the energy of the series/shots.
In order for the application to work properly :
1. Install at least firmware version 1.2.0
2. Do NOT pair the mobile device to the Labradar
3. Enable the location services and accept the permissions upon application startup
4. Make sure the Labradar is not in armed mode while trying to connect to it

Settings change crashes the app
When I go into settings and try to change any setting such as bullet weight the app crashes and then disconnects from the Labrador. I have to go into the Labrador menu make my changes and then refresh my phone for the changes to register in the phone. Phone does connect every time though. Was hoping for better by switching to iPhone.

Horrible app
While the LabRadar unit itself is nice when you can get it to consistently acquire each shot, the app is just horrible. You can’t do anything without being connected to the unit. So, you’re burning battery while you’re setting up strings, etc. It also disconnects constantly. The only thing you can edit per string is it’s name. Forgot to change the bullet weight in settings? Well, you’re stuck and can’t do a simple edit. For weather conditions, you have to enter manually whereas other apps pull the data from your phone. Switching back and forth between strings fails. When I change back to a prior string on the app, the unit still records to the existing string. For the price of the unit, they really need to fire their app designer and hire someone who knows what they are doing. They need to look to their competitors for good app function. I’m honestly thinking of selling my LabRadar and going back to my ProChrono because Digital Link’s app is light years ahead of LabRadar and was I intuitive and a joy to use. Labradar’s app is just trash and turns a day at the range into a chore.

So right, but so wrong
The annotation functionality is a great implementation. That should have been there from the beginning. Option to ask for bullet weight was good for me. If you could set up a connection to the kestrel Drop or similar that would be icing on the cake…..and then the good times end. It constantly dropped offline, I would create a new series on the phone but it would not take on the unit. I ran 3 sets of the shots all on the phone. On the unit, I had one set of 9. There is no Refresh button at the series level. Trying to find the Arm button was an Easter egg hunt and is not intuitive nor easy to get to even if you know where it is. Pages used to be nested in each other and you could drill down and back. Now they are all separate and it’s annoying to navigate. I gave 1 star because ultimately I put the phone away and just ran everything from the unit. So annoying.

Fumbled with settings
I would have rated the App 5 stars if settings had been easier to find. Had to swipe screen to the left, then settings screen would not stay. After fumbling with screen, finally got it to stabilize and got the settings I wanted. App would be more helpful if initial settings were in English Units, FPS, yards etc. The Arm feature is especially helpful as the Labradar does not get disturbed. Update - the LabRadar app will not change projectile weight from grams to grains. Frustrating!

Very beneficial update
Old app did the job but was a little clunky and was missing a few things. This new update has added the missing items. New UI allows naming of series and gets useful information front and center. Still some communication issues, had one drop with an hour of use.

So frustrating to use; The UI (user interface) is clumsy and difficult to navigate. I am a professional computer programmer and have designed and written many many front ends. It appears to me that a focus group wasn’t appreciated and much “self referential” (I made it so it works for me;the developer) without end user trials. I too am have difficulty maintaining a connection, so frustrating. It’s easier not to use the iPhone app. ps. Nickname used try again…pfttt So really now only .25 star

The app freezes a lot and has connection issues when I am the only person around with the device and sitting right next to it. I know the device is capable of providing good quality data but sometimes I try and repeat the data using the same load data and get varying results.

Still needs work on app compatability
I have an older lab radar. Finally, they brought their app up to speed with reality. However, it continues to kick me off the app randomly when perusing settings like the power options. Just about time lab radar gets their act together for as much as they charge this software glitchyness is just unacceptable.

Needs much more work
1.3.3 was supposed to fix the connectivity issue, just as bad today as it ever was. In a normal session, normally 3-4 hours, I’ll have to stop shooting and reconnect my iPad to the device at least 6-8 times. Totally ridiculous that a company that developed one of the best chronographs on the market can’t hire a developer that is capable of solving the same issue they've had from day one of the app release.

Latest Version Barely Works
As others have mentioned, the last update created more issues than fixed old ones. App crashes when you try to update settings and whenever you create a new series, the shots still keep being added to the old series. At this point you are better off just using the unit standalone without the App.
