Lace provides a quick reference to about 70 different styles of lace — from Alençon to Youghal — written by Jean Leader, a recognized authority on hand-made lace, and illustrated with photos of lace, primarily from her own collection and that of The Lace Guild.
The distinguishing features of the styles are explained, and for each lace there is a photo of both a detail and of a whole piece. The laces are placed in their historical context, and maps are available showing the regions where they were produced.
Complementing this is a section describing the different grounds used in these styles, and one in which the differences between the various types of lace (bobbin, needlelace etc.) are explained.

This is an amazing app. Now I can show all the different kinds of lace without taking along extra pillows or books. Great for demonstrating, research and educating. Thank you David and Jean for all your hard work.

Perfect!
This is exactly what I was looking for, I have been making Bobbin Lace since 2007 (Torchon & Milanese). Great app that I can view the pictures and descriptions of the different laces, perfect for me to learn the history behind lace & plan my future laces to try. Thank you! PA-USA.

Lace
A friend in my lace guild said I should get this app. And I am glad I did! It will help alot. I would love to see early lace as well as the others even if they seem the same. If you could contact the ithaca lace guild, I am sure they would have samples of other lace you do not have in this app. Thanks!!

Very Informational
This app has extensive knowledge of the lacing world. It provides a unique look at all different types of bobbin lace, as well as other types of lace. Jean Leader is a phenomenal teacher and quite the expert of lace. Highly recommended for anyone who loves lace.
