This ‘Landmine Awareness’ application aims to introduce individuals to the risks when travelling to countries with a landmine threat. By better understanding landmines, how they function and being able to identify where landmines might be found this will help prevent further injury and death caused by landmines throughout the world every day.
This app shows how landmines function, how to avoid minefields and what to do in a landmine situation. Included is access to a landmine database which allows individuals to have a better understanding of what anti-personnel and anti-vehicle landmines visually looks like on the ground. An additional database provides an insight into the landmines used within a country.
Regular updates and user contributions will ensure this is as up to date and a continually developing source of awareness training and information on landmines.
From within the application, users can contribute information reference landmines or on-going landmine incidents and distribute news feeds between users.
So, whether considering, travelling to, or actually in a country affected by landmines individuals can be better informed and aware about the problems of these explosive hazards and what to do in a landmine situation.

Very nice app
Great work putting this thing together. I know it took a lot of time and expenses. I especially like the "landmines by country" section. This is useful to have on my phone. As a UXO technician I gladly welcome this app and it's author to the app store. Cheers

This app is great and one of a kind! It is very comprehensive and a really handy tool to have for travel in certain regions or if you work in the Mine Action world. Awesome!

Would be great if it was actually FREE!!
Great concept, decent graphics and information for the most part - at least as far as the free content goes. The majority of the app content is NOT FREE and extremely expensive to purchase. What they did was lock the majority of the content. When you click on locked content - anything from awareness training $6.99 to the actual mine types $13.99. But wait, it doesnt specify whether this is a one-time payment that unlocks everything or if you have to pay it for every lock. I don't intend to spend any money to find out. Ridiculous.
