Really fun concept!
Matching with people based on a common answer gives you an ice breaker right away which makes starting a conversation super easy! It would be great to be able to choose categories for the questions (ie movies, politics, sports etc) in order to match with people with more specified shared interests. Definitely looking forward to trying it out!

Has potential
This app seems super new so I wasn’t expecting much in terms of matches. When I opened it up to create my account the first question asked was “which telletubbie would I murder.” Kind of off putting that that’s the first thing I see when I open the app and not really knowing what it’s about. I wish it would have let the time travel question be my first answer after letting me put in my picture. The app itself runs slow and is glitchy. Questions do not load like they should and answer boxes disappear from the screen. Also, there was nowhere to add an orientation that I could see. Lastly, when I answered my first question it said it would find me others who answered like me but then the screen went black and nothing happened. That’s as far as I got really. I can only assume there just isn’t enough users in my area yet and it can’t find anyone to pair with. I will try to come back to this when the app has improved and there are more users because the premise is very interesting I’d love to get to use it.

Pointless.
I haven’t had Lantern for long so I can’t speak on its affects/effects/efficiency in what it advertises. So far all I have done is answer dumb questions that don’t mean anything. That’s not the worst part though. The UI is very slow, when I chose and answer it took a long time for it to register so the next screen would open. Also, there were random videos in between some of the questions that sometimes made sense but only if you think about them really hard, I was just confused why they thought they were needed in the first place.
I haven’t used the app for it’s intended/marketing purpose yet, but I plan on it. I am curious. I will return to either update, make a new, or reply to this comment (I’m don’t know the future but I know the options).

The death of “hey what’s up”
I love the concept that instead of just swiping left or right on someone’s looks, that you’re matched based on fun question prompts! Then, the question prompts are saved in the chat to start your conversation.
Say no to bad conversations and the walls and walls of hey what’s ups. We deserve better and lantern provides a light at the end of a dark tunnel filled with boring conversation.

Personality matching is key!
I liked the questions on the app and am thinking they probably use AI to find matches that have same answers to the questions. Most dating apps it’s just based on pictures and I’ve been disappointed with other apps complete lack of care for personalities and interests. Will be curious where this app goes!

Great Idea
This app is a great take on modern dating - instead of just showing you pictures of people and their auto-bios, you’re presented with 4 people who chose similar answers to various prompts. This encourages you to actually choose someone, since the “none” option is a less exciting choice (and has a smaller click box)
I foresee a lot of people actually starting conversations with others about their choices as long as your “choice” chooses you back
If I could change something, I would reword some answer choices like change “fix an embarrassing thing I did” to “fix a mistake I made” or change “live quietly in the past” to “quietly visit the past”

This is not like any dating app I’ve ever used! Instead of being shown pictures you choose to match with someone based on their answers to a prompt! I find that this was a great way to start a conversation with each person! Definitely try this if you’re over just swiping right !

Still Too New
I like the concept of the app, but there are a lot of things that are lacking. For one, there is no age filter, meaning the people that the app pick for you could or could not be what you’re looking for. Also, there is no distance filter. Finally, there is no way to go back in and change your preferences once you’ve made them, and you only have one profile picture. Overall, I like what the developers were trying to do, but there are still tons of things that need to be implemented for this to be a true “dating” app.

It’s nice to find new ways to meet people and this app is truly unique :). There aren’t a bunch of matches in the area though because the app is new.
However, the questions are interesting and intriguing enough to keep answering them. Enjoy!

NO LONGER IN SERVICE
Got this app in its early stages. Loved the concept. The ice breaker questions are fun and interesting. Very small pool of people because the app is not popular. Eventually, app updates stopped happening. Ice breaker questions ran out. No new marketing from the team. No responses to customer service. No more social media presence. Obviously the app had been abandoned. It was fun while it lasted and had so much potential.
