Excellent App
I am using this app to learn Bulgarian, which is a very difficult language to learn. The pronunciation is very clear and you can slow it down if needed. The app uses multiple methods to teach language: pronunciation tests, spelling, listening skills, fill in the blank (with a vocabulary bank), and matching pics with the vocabulary (I find this is more helpful than flipping thru flash cards and trying to memorize words). Each lesson teaches and tests using a full range of methods I learned about when I was getting my TESOL certification. The app is brilliantly executed and I like the gaming layout--you level up after each small lesson--which makes it fun and addictive.

Good App
Designed well. Encourages consistency by limiting daily time, it kind of forces you to rest and come back to it, making it not overwhelming. Just starting to see that I can hear the language better, distinguish between letters and letter groups and hear repeating sounds. A relatively pain-free way to learn. Provides confidence. Positive reinforcement. I like the daily reminders to study and since it only takes a few minutes it is a prompt I increasingly respond to rather than waiting. The app is built to help you succeed, to help you continue.

It was better when I had the free app.
Now that I paid for the extended learning plan the app runs so slowly I don’t have time to wait for it to come up. I know it’s not my iPad because I don’t have the same problem with any other app. The app itself is good IF you already have a rudimentary knowledge of the language. It’s not for absolute beginners. I just wish it didn’t run so slowly, so I could spend more time learning and not waiting.
Problem was corrected after I contacted customer service, so I added a star. I just wish you were taught the words before you were tested on them. But I guess the app teaches you to listen to the pronunciation to figure out the words.

Best Language Learning App
Mondly is hands down the best learning app I’ve used to learn a language. I’ve used many, and none have quite given me the edge that Mondly has. I learn close to twice as fast as compared to other apps and it enables me to speak and connect with my fiancé and her family In her native language (Bulgarian) much more deeply than if I was using other learning methods. Their customer service (I dealt with Ioana, whom I believe is also more than customer service), and it was a total delight and exceeded my expectations. USE MONDLY! Don’t wait! Just do it.

works! and not frustrating
This works! At least for a complete beginner. The exercises are “easy”/give context clues so you can figure things out and start to learn. Also a variety of exercises for listening, reading, a little spelling. It’s fun. In translations the also underline the key words, which is useful because translations are rarely one to one. The underlines let you see what words are being more directly translated.

Excellent process!
Being married to a Bulgarian who doesn’t have the patience to teach the language was frustrating, and after years of questions, my Bulgarian vocabulary was poor at best. This method of teaching is very effective, especially with learning pronunciation, grammar and sentence structure, in a manner that’s almost too easy. I tried learning with other programs, and this system by far is superior. Thanks for making a system even a teacher can learn from!

I’m a new student of Bulgarian, after a visit there piqued my interest in both living in Bulgaria and learning the language. To no one’s surprise, getting my hands on books or a course to learn Bulgarian (I live in China) is close to impossible. So I went to the App Store and downloaded a half dozen Bulgarian apps. This is the one I use every day. There are verb declensions, a range of learning types, and daily challenges that test my learning. I LOVE it!

I'm a would be polyglot, and am playing with Greek and Bulgarian/Russian. I like the interface and the pronunciation features. I enjoy Duolingo, but Mondly works very well, with unusual languages and a somewhat different approach.

Not bad at all. I tried the free version for about a week. Then I decided to pay for the month to see what the rest offered. I may just pay for the year as this app is useful, easy to use, and helpful! I would recommend to anyone trying to pick up another language.

Trying to learn Bulgarian as I am visiting Bulgaria where my daughter-in-law is from. Now that I’m trying the core vocabulary, I’m learning the things I will need to know when I visit there soon. I appreciate the comprehensive learning on the app translating both directions and learning pronunciation.
