Excellent language learning tool at a reasonable price
I initially had issues after purchasing app whereby I could not open up any module or lesson except for the daily lesson. The issue was quickly resolved after I sent an email to the contact number provided with the app.
I find this language tool far superior to others I have used in trying to learn Croatian. There is a clever mix of techniques that seem to really help with memorization and gramma. I like being measured and the statistics kept as it gives an objective basis for how hard are working, and by forcing myself to repeat the lesson as many times as it takes until I get all 3 stars, I have a much better chance of remembering the Lesson. I also like the scoreboard for competing with others, although honestly I haven’t tried yet to figure out how it works and maximize my score.

I just started today and so far I like it. I’m learning this language because my boyfriend is Bosnian and every time we go to Bosnia to visit it don’t speak the language well. Croatian is basically the same language so hopefully it’ll help me communicate better when we visit this summer.

Needs many improvements...
I purchased all the lessons for a year to learn Croatian. I wish it would have been a one time purchase to justify the expensive price (close to 50 dollars for a year). My major qualm with the app is that it will teach you sentences to say if you’re a male speaker. I was not aware of this until my Croatian boyfriend pointed it out I was using a lot of phrases in a masculine way and not the feminine form. I’ve already spent 10 hours using the app and have gone through the lessons in order, and it does not point this out. I suggest asking the user to input their gender and teach them sentences one would use for their specific gender, or at least make it more clear certain words need to change if you’re female.

Beware- the free trial is a scam.
Their “7 day free trial” isn’t that. They emailed me after starting the free trial and told me when I would be charged, and when I would need to cancel by. I canceled the day before their quoted date. They charged me that same day- after I had cancelled, and still BEFORE the day they said they would charge me. I contested the charge immediately- still the day before when they said they would charge me- and they refused to undo the charge/subscription. Absolute scam- stay far, far away.
Update: their reply to me- suggesting they’ll help resolve the issue- is a lie. I reached out exactly as suggested, and was again denied a cancellation & refund by the same useless customer service representative as before.

I really like the set up and feel of the app. It’s aesthetically pleasing as well as practical and actually teaches you.
Yet... a lot of the content I need to learn it restricted by the premium feature.
It’s quite frustrating because I’m Croatian and I’ve been trying to learn forever and I’ve been trying to find a good app and this is one of the goods ones I’ve found. I’m also taking a trip to Croatia and I feel kinda unprepared which I hopped the app would help with.

Not bad but not great.
The app is just okay. Not horrible, not great. I started using it because it has (Serbo-)Croatian, and none of the other popular language apps did.
It has errors, but fewer than Drops. It also has a lot more grammar than Drops, which is almost exclusively vocabulary. It is more flexible than Duolingo, in that you don't have to finish earlier things before going to more advanced things, but I think this is because Duolingo has a lot more grammar, and thus needs that structure.
The best thing, perhaps, is that you can also use the web site. That may seem like small potatoes but it's actually very nice to have that option if you don't feel like using a small screen.
The worst thing is that the UI is not great. Drops and Duolingo stand out as the best for UI, and even Memrise has a nicer UI than this. But that's a small thing in the end.

Pretty good for fun learning supplement
While Mondly is pretty fun, it’s definitely not a great way to learn the language. It doesn’t teach any grammar. It’s like a game but it can be a little annoying because you get points from memorizing exactly what the game is programmed to do. But I use it alongside learning the language from a book that teaches concepts (I’m doing Croatian).

Great for studying on the go!
The mini games make it very ideal for learning on the go. It’s very easy to keep track of your progress. You can even review old lessons and play the games from past lessons as many times as you wish for better memorization and retention.

Keeps you engaged
I am not sure how much I am learning, but after two weeks I am not bored and I still keep wanting to return to learn. My wife is Croatian and I have tried other programs to learn the language, this is the best for me.

I love the app. I have tried different apps but this one so far is the best. I love that you can speak into your phone and the app can check pronunciation. Also, at the end of each lesson you can tap in each word you don't know and practice!
