Universal Photo Editor with support for Layers, Selection, Masks and of course filters, effects and other tools.

An editor so powerful that you could do almost anything that you thought was possible only on a desktop.

√ True layer support, just like photo editing on desktop.
√ Selection. You can select an area and work with filters and effects only on that area.
√ Layers can be masked. And not just with brush, you get a whole set of mask editing tool.
√ Layers support all that a true layer app should. Blending, Opacity, Transform, Duplicate, Merge and flatten.
√ The app is so fast that most of the operations are real time. You don't have to wait while adjusting the sliders.
√ Handles Exif, IPTC, Geotag etc. You can even edit Geotag and IPTC.
√ Exports PSD with layers. And of course exports JPEG and PNG too.
√ Copy/Paste with selections and masks.
√ Undo/Redo.
√ Powerful filters you will hardly find on many other apps.
√ 25 preset photo effects.
√ Tools like Crop, Straighten, Clone stamp, color gradient, paint brush, red eye brush and add text etc.
√ You can save your projects with all layers and selections preserved and work on them back and forth.
√ 18 video tutorials.
√ Resolution up to 4096x4096 on iPad3 and above and on iPhone max resolution is equal to the resolution of the built-in camera.

And yes, it runs on both iPhone and iPad.

Note that reduce noise filter is available only on iPhone 5 and iPad3 and above.

To get maximum resolution you will need to...
1. Go to home screen.
2. Press on the "?" button.
3. Under resolution, select the max.

Smilinghatguy,
Very good editor
I borderline on 5 or 4 stars because this is almost a perfect graphics editor. For the price, it is the best app I’ve found. I’ve used it to create multiple collages, put fire into my fireplace, create funny picture edits for my kids, and more. Tools available are so much like Photoshop and I can do it all from my iPad.
Things that would make this a perfect score: ability to have more layers (it maxes out somewhere above 20 so who needs 20 separate layers, but I did last week in a massive collage. I tried to work around the layer issue with merge down but it is a quirky merge or I just don’t understand it.
Also, the ability to move part of an image seems basic but I can’t figure out how to float the selection and move part of a layer elsewhere or better yet make a new layer out of the selection. A workaround I have is to duplicate the layer and crop it to the piece that I want.
Very extremely cool app! Thank you! I needed something with the power of GIMP but on an iPad and I’ve used this now for 2+ years and love it.
Lil' Osborne,
Bugs and Updates
Overall the app use it all the time, but there are a few things I would change. Like, when I get to certain amount of layers, I can’t add anymore. Then I can’t finish what I’m working on without a lot more work. One other issue is the layer merge. It was fine not too ago, now, when I try to merge two items, one just disappears! I really like this app, but these are two things I would really like to see changed. Another issue I have found is that inside the app, the project is super low quality, it is fine when I save it to my phone, but I can hardly see to work on it!
ArtFreesLife,
Update?
I really enjoy the layout and workflow of this app more than the other layering/masking apps available. It's intuitive and fun to work with. I would love it even more, use it all the time, and give it 5 stars if all the tools worked. The smudge tool and a few of the other tools and features do not save. They look like they're working and the image looks good after hitting "apply", but then they disappear in the saved image and in the flattened image. Frustrating to spend a lot of time getting something just right and then having all that work disappear. I've spent hours trying to figure out what's going on thinking I wasn't doing something in the right order -- watching and reading tutorials and asking people I know who work with the app if they have been able to get certain features to work. Nada. I finally realized that these features just don't work right now and that the app may need an update. I'm very much hoping that this app will be kept "alive". It's really a beauty when all the features work.
JCT04,
Best app
I’ve used this app for years for multiple sports accounts on Instagram and have had work reposted by NFL and NBA players and teams. This app is easily the best editing app on the App Store and way better than SuperImposeX, so I just wish they would focus on this app more. I used this app on an IPhone 6s for almost 3 years and had no problems, but when I updated to an IPhone XS the screen gets all blurry when you’re using the app. This app is amazing so I just wish they would fix this! They haven’t updated it in over a year so maybe it just doesn’t work with this type of phone, but I really wish they would fix this bug so I could get back to using it the way I used to. But definitely worth the money!
arrrrt,
Should be Included with every iPad!
I'm giving a new review since Leonardo is now os10 savvy and I recently got a iPad mini 4. I mention the two items together because the mini 4 has replaced much older iPads I had and it has a far better camera than the older iPads... but though the camera is quite good, it's still far from perfect. This is where Leonardo comes in. It is the perfect complimentary app to quickly and drastically improve the iPad's photos. It works so perfectly/easily tweaking the iPad images that it could be considered the defacto photo app for this device. The quick results are so impressive that I am getting far better looking images than phones which include superior cameras. If it only had a batch setting, this would be beyond ideal!

Original write up...
'Near Perfect Image App'
Though it lacks a few features which I have to revert to another app to utilize, Leonardo has such a huge assortment of professional image editing options, it has become the final defacto app for completing image edits. Puts Adobe's iPad arsenal to shame.
Paul in NJ,
Does Almost Everything
This is an outstanding retouching tool that does virtually everything Photoshop does in a far less cumbersome way. Two wishes and one heads up: I wish you could control saturation levels by color in an absolute manner – for example, allowing us to pull back some of the yellows without increasing the blues. Second, there does not appear to be a healing tool. Finally a heads up: go into your settings before you do anything and change your resolution to Very High, or you will do all your work on a picture only to find that it is been saved in a low res. form. Terrific app; highly recommend.
baysidetrax,
Good app
The dropped shadow is ok on Leonardo, but I'd like to have the option of moving it and placing it anywhere I want without limitation. On your other app, Superimpose, you placed the shadow tab at the output. It should have been placed with the other tools in the edit panels. Also, the 'shadow' function does not allow me to zoom in on the image to get an up-close view of the shadow for better tuning. Overall, Superimpose is better on 'shadow' functionality in that it can be placed anywhere. On Leonardo, the manual 'masking' brush tends to be a lot slower than that if Superimpose. Please fix!!!
Whistleweed,
Almost PS Touch!!
Unfortunately Adobe discontinued PS Touch for the iPad. However, after searching hundreds of photo editing apps, Leonardo comes closest to replacing PS Touch. This app has a tool selection for editing photos far better than most all other apps in the App Store. Leonardo is far more intuitive and diverse than the competition. I would give it 5 stars vs 4 if they updated it more frequently. There are areas that could use tweaking and new features added. Other than regular improvements, this app is highly recommended!!
vicfierros13,
Please fix the app!!
I bought this app because all my graphic designer friends told me how great of an app it is and they even let me try it out on their phone but unfortunately since I bought it (about 3 months ago) it’s had a bug where the entire app is LOW QUALITY (BLURRY) please fix it. I loved this app when I was given the chance to actually SEE WHAT I’M DOING !! I would’ve given 5 stars but then again I can’t see what I’m doing so you get 3. Would’ve been 4 stars but I Emailed whoever’s email was linked to the app and didn’t get a reply so I was forced to come here so PLEASE FIX THIS AMAZING APP!!
PaulsoSea,
Can't ask for better
Not being a professional artist or photographer, I can't speak for anyone other than someone who enjoys manipulating and enhancing my photos. This marvelous app not only allows me to enhance, modify, experiment, and try to my heart's content, but it hardly lets go of me every time I open it. I get started and don't want to stop. When I finally stop a session it's with reluctance and anticipation of a quick return. Beautiful, friendly, versatile, brimming with quality.
