I started learning Arabic (fusHa) years ago and recently started learning Syrian Arabic with Pimsleur. It’s great for speaking, but it’s entirely audio so there’s no text resources to help.
The biggest dictionaries all focus on MSA, which isn’t useful for learning Shami. I’d been using Lughatuna and some other resources, which are okay, but they’re complicated and inconsistent.
This is the first time I’ve seen a dictionary with the Levantine dialect that clearly shows the most common verbs with their various forms.
I’ve only used it for a few minutes, but I’m so happy I had to leave a review. My only complaint so far is the order of the conjugations.
1. He
2. She
3. They
4. You (m)
5. You (f)
6. You (pl)
7. We
8. I
It would make more sense to put singulars first (I, you, he, she) and then plurals (We, You, They). Or at least put I before We.
Thanks for making this! I’ll definitely pay once the trial is up.
