2.1.1
2015-09-24
The 2.1.1 version of the LIFT Session app includes the following updates:
1. Heart Rate Monitoring
- With this new feature, both client and trainer will be able to see the client’s heart rate during their LIFT Session, allowing for better understanding of client’s intensity and creative session management by the trainer, for example limiting rest periods with heart beat thresholds
- The client’s Heart Rate Recovery will also be available during a LIFT Session, a crucial indicator of the client’s fitness level
- The heart rate will also be tracked per exercise, which means that both client and trainer will see heart rate increase, decrease, average and maximum on a per exercise basis and during the rest period – this wealth of information provides for detailed progress tracking that is currently exclusive to the LIFT Session app
- Only Bluetooth based heart rate monitors are supported in version 2.1. Devices from the following manufacturers have been validated: MIO, Polar, Wahoo, Under Armour and Adidas. Unfortunately, devices from Fitbit and Jawbone do not provide real-time heart rate monitoring services to external applications, and as such, are not supported
2. Program Management – In-Session
- Trainers can now edit any part of the program during a session regardless of where they are in the program
- Trainers can now add, remove and modify reps/time of any exercise in the program even when in a session
- Trainers can show any exercise videos at any time – for example for a circuit before the circuit starts
3. Real-Time Email Updates
- Session Summary: at the end of each LIFT Session the client will receive a session summary email with a PDF attachment summarizing the workout
- Program Sharing: Clients receive email notifications when a trainer shares a program with the client, or updates a previously shared program
4. In-Session User Experience
- Client UI enhancements in-session, such as current exercise thumbnail and font adaptation for better viewing
- Trainer UI enhancements in-session, such as ability to minimize the program to better view the client
5. Social Media Sharing and Permissions
- Clients and trainers can now share results immediately after completing a session on Facebook and Twitter
- Trainers can now take pictures of client training through the app, if permitted by client, and share at the end of the session
- All social media sharing is based on permissions provided by client. Trainer can only share if client has allowed it through the app. By default, the permission setting is OFF
6. Whiteboard on Videos
- Whiteboard functionality is now extended to demo videos to better instruct client in-session
7. General
- iOS9 readiness
- Added Test Connection feature allowing clients and trainers to verify Wi-Fi connectivity prior to session
8. Bluetooth Headset Support
- Added support for Bluetooth headsets to enhance LIFT Sessions when client and/or trainer are training outside or in a noisy environment
NOTE: Bluetooth headsets should be paired with iPad from iOS Settings app
9. Warning when Trainer cancels Program Updates
- Added a warning message whenever a trainer taps 'Cancel' while editing an exercise program to avoid inadvertent loss of changes during program edition
