This app is the companion to the Little Grasshopper Books line of children’s books. We know even very young children experience much of the world through digital means, and we wanted to link that reality to reading skills and learning. We've created this free app for each of our printed titles that reinforces and strengthens reading and learning skills.
First, download this app. Once you do, click the Add Book button to add the digital content for your printed book to the library. When prompted, scan the QR code found in your printed book to access the content.
In the app, storybooks are read aloud, complete with fun sound effects. Interactive games such as memory, word matching, sequencing, and bubble pop enrich the experience. With songbooks, have fun with a karaoke mode! In Early Learning books, hear each word from the book pronounced aloud and see a clear photograph. Tap pictures to hear sound effects. Questions and games add to the fun!

The books are cute. The app is awful. Very long loading screen EVERY time you choose to read. Doesn’t actually read the book to you, just shows you the same pictures of what’s in the book in front of you. Just a fake plow to pretend these are educational tools.

At first I was upset...
I downloaded the app and finally figured out where the QR codes were in order to download the book. Then the book would ‘t play. Why on earth would I want these books if my kids can’t hear them?! The whole point is so they can have the books be read to them by someone other than me when I am busy. I finally realized, in order to hear them you have to take your phone off of silent. So hopefully if anyone else has had this issue, that will be a help to you. Until we explore further I am giving this a 4 star review. Once we play a little more with the app I will update my review.

Simple, Beautiful, Thoughtful App
Bought two sets for my classroom and I am so pleased! I love that the app offers the choice to follow along in the book as the app reads or select the option to follow along with the words on the screen. The comprehension or skill activities that go with each book are awesome and easy for kids to understand directions.

Love it. Patience needed
We love the little grasshopper books. Yes there was an issue for my six-year-old and four-year-old grandchildren to load the box onto the phone. The secret is to make sure the phone is still and they are lined up in the middle of the screen.

Great purchase. Books are well made, actually bound together instead of glued. The app itself is simple and easy to use. Voice is clear and loud! Keep up the good work little grasshopper.

Handy app
I thought audio wasn’t working but it turns out I needed to turn my phone off silent. For iPhone users, flip the switch on the side of the phone off orange. App worked great!

Cannot get books to download
i have tried every book and only 1 read the barcode and downloaded the book. My granddaughter was super excited to read/hear her books and there is no alternate way to download. Barcode reader worked on 1 of 6 books I bought.

Excited kid bad app
I can’t hear anything on the app the books are beautiful and my daughter was excited to be able to read them with the app but it doesn’t work. If you are going to make us pay so much for books you could at least make your app work.

Can't even get the book to load
Literally just downloaded the app, my son is excited to read the potty book on the iPad, and the app won't even load the book to read! Tried several times and no change. He can play the games, but not read the book. I can see now why this app has so few stars....
