Simple, cute and effective!
I’m a Special Education teacher and it can be difficult for my students to understand the concept of time / timers. Traditional timers don’t work very well for them. Transitions are very important. I recently discovered this app, paid the one time payment of $2.99 and got access to everything. You can customize the pictures that the egg hatches, the sounds and the background. It’s not over complicated and is very effective! My students loved waiting to see what animal would hatch! The only recommendation I have that would be helpful is if there was a feature to make the buttons not push able while the timer is on (I.e. a “kid safe” feature), since sometimes my students try to touch or tap the screen on my phone and can mess up the timer. I’m also wondering if there is a Web/PC version.

I cannot stress enough how big of a game changer this app was and is!

Background: my wife and I are potty training our 2.5yo twins #struggleisreal

I came across little timer to try and use a visual timer with a surprise outcome (hatching an animal). After using the free version and seeing their eyes light up when they saw a cat or dog I had to drop the 2.99 to unlock everything else. Now ever time they advocate to go to the bathroom they say “egg timer” without fail.

I’ve also added the timer to our other routines like brushing teeth, cleaning up, reading, and play time. This will be a go to timer for our kids and I couldn’t be more pleased with it.

To the developer(s): first off a big thank you!! Secondly I would love for you to add more animals or maybe even special occasion animals during holidays/seasons to collect. I would be willing to drop another few+ dollars to unlock more animals or other unique features.

Surprisingly one of the best apps I’ve bought in 2020!

Unlocked tunes:
Happy Robot (during timer) is a kid perfect countdown

Animal Party (end of timer) is a 🔥track that makes both me and the kids bob our heads!

Well played y’all!!

Nice and fun timer even before purchases
So I am trying to learn to draw. I watched a video that was basically a plan to get better over the new year. A big thing they say to do is practice drawing poses for 2-5 minutes each. All I needed was a good timer. A real one would be too loud and the default timer app is dead silent until it blasts you after the time’s up. So I looked for a fun timer and found this one. Its nice because it’s free with no ads. And it plays nice music during the timer to remind you that you’re being timed. I still bought premium to hopefully convince myself to turn this into a habit. But yes, highly recommend this app if you’re looking for a fun timer app

Best Visual Timer App!!
I’m a pediatric occupational therapist with over 15 years of experience. This app is possibly the best app purchase I’ve ever made for my job. It combines the simple visual appeal of the traditional Time Timer with excitement that draws the kids visual attention away from the task they’re engaged in, and helps connect them back to me before making a transition. This is consistent with the strategies used in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), making it ideal for kids with a history or trauma or attachment issues, as well. I LOVE that I can add my own photos, making it easy to engage a child’s specific interests or even show them what they are transitioning to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
NineLimes,
Finally! A timer he actually respected!
I have a couple other timers that we’ve used for time out, but this weekend I needed something new. We are traveling to see family, so with all the distractions and missed naps, we’ve had a few struggles. (Potty training is stressful and can be a giant time sink.) First, this is cute!!! We both liked seeing who was going to hatch. But more importantly, he went potty before the timer went off. I’m not sure what it is — is it the egg? It’s cute? The circle showing the time running out? Answer: it doesn’t matter — it’s effective. Period. Did I mention it’s cute? 😉

Loved the app, she loved add her animals which is usually her stuffed toys & pretty much everything she like.

As much as love this, the paid version doesn’t not sinc on the iPad. This was a bit disappointing since we paid for the extra features. I hope someone can help me with this.

Wish they had brushing your teeth icon (not a deal breaker) & if the timer egg moved like a real clock instead of the opposite direction, kids would real understand the concept of how fast time real moves, just a suggestion.

Great Idea, Multitasking Issues Though
I really like the idea of the app, and as a teacher, students pay even more attention to the timer than they normally would because of the surprise factor. The usability though is really struggling, though. Every time I try to split screen the app on iPad, it always fails and the timer becomes offset. The app only works when it’s the only app on the screen.

Please make it possible for the app to work side by side on the iPad, or floating on top of another app. I’d like to be able to have a document open for kids or the notes/instructions on the screen while the timer is going.
BernardelliSLP,
Love this timer
This timer is simple, easy to use, and my students enjoy guessing which animal will hatch at the end. So fun!

Would it be possible to add an option where the user could create/add their own 'reminder' similar to the way we can add our own reward picture? I'd like to have the ability to add images of a specific assignment or work area within our classroom as the reminder for when the timer ends. Thank you!

As an occupational therapist, this app is amazing.
I love the metronome and how you can program your own pictures to pop out of the egg. I use that as a reinforcement/ way to transition kiddos to the next activity. Only thing I wish we could add to the program is a way to record your own voice as a reminder at the end of the timer—I find that kiddos sometimes respond better to a digital reminder, kind of the same way they respond to AACs.
Gingernaute,
Perfect
I have a preschooler who is a bit of a problem eater and one of the first things I wanted to address was her wanting to bail at dinner to watch cartoons as a way of avoiding eating food she doesn’t like. This timer has made asking her to sit with us so much easier: I like having a set time that she has to sit with us until she can leave, and waiting for the surprise inside the egg has made her less wiggly. Tonight was the first night we had no screaming and crying at the dinner table in a long time!
