Description
The Central Agency for German Schools Abroad is, on behalf of the Federal Foreign Office, responsible for the academic work abroad. With the involvement of the German states, about 1,200 schools worldwide, amongst them more than 140 German schools abroad, are pedagogically, personally and financially supported.
For more than 35 years, BEGEGNUNG, the periodical of German Schools Abroad, has focused on developments in academic work in Germany and abroad. Relevant topics like inclusive education, teacher shortages or the centralized final exams called “Zentralabitur” are examined clearly, colourfully and with the help of notable experts. BEGEGNUNG appears four times a year with a circulation of 15.500 copies. 20.000 additional copies are distributed at didacta, Europe’s largest trade fair for the education sector. The magazine is aimed at decision makers in politics, culture and academia, German representatives in other countries and educators in Germany and abroad.
