Perfect for teaching
Request: add ability to erase with finger when using pencil. I use this to help my kids learn algebra, the ability to erase small mistakes without starting over would really help, but aside from this, I think this is a great app.
It is the easiest way to quickly get writing with no frills, no creating art boards, just grab and go. There is a reason that this was the way kids learned in school for years. The slate was a great tool.
Neat that there is a ghost image as you erase.

Easy to use, hard to erase
Basic chalkboard, white on black. Very easy to use, all lines same width.
Drawbacks: The only way to erase is to shake the device, which is easy with a phone but hard with an ipad. The blank slate is not black, but slightly mottled, like a real chalkboard after being erased. After shaking to erase, some of the marks remain, faintly, but seem to accumulate so the slate becomes greyer and greyer, reducing contrast.
