My Pet Boris app is the scariest app for the iPhone. Inspired by Jim Pace's magic trick "The Web" where a spider magically appears on the back of your spectator's hand. Bound to get amazing reactions.
The app uses the idea of "Augmented Reality" merging real life objects with computer generated graphics to create a truly frightening effect.
THE MAGIC SPIDER EFFFECT
You take a photo of the spectator's palm (secretly loading a plastic spider on the back of their hand) and place the phone on their palm to hold.
Your Pet Boris - an Australian Red back spider (black widow) creeps onto the screen and they can feel the vibrations as it walks. You can tap the screen and even slide your finger into the animation to scratch the spider's back. Boris walks off the screen.
You tell them that the phone has special sensors that when you wave your hand over the screen it makes the spider come back. He does.
You get them to wave their hand over the phone.
It is just then that they glimpse a realistic spider clinging to the back of their hand and they FREAK OUT!!
Bound to get BIG reactions.
Finger tone and size can be set to suit your own or you can import an image of your own finger.
Start-up screen can be customised to suit your performance style. An actual photo of their hand, solid white or any image from your library can be used as a background.
NOTE: Requires a plastic spider or cockroach and adhesive dots to perform. You should be able to find these locally or you can purchase from our website.

THE MAGIC BUTTERFLY EFFECT - IN-APP PURCHASE - (for the Professional Magician)
The Magic Butterfly is an additional effect within the Magic Spider – My Pet Boris App.
It is enabled as an “in app purchase” for around US$2.99 depending on your local currency. The custom finger feature is also unlocked when you purchase the butterfly effect.
This is a perfect routine for those times when you want to perform a beautiful effect for a little girl or woman, leaving her with a magical gift at the end. You will get similarly strong reactions to the Magic Spider effect without the scare factor.
PRESENTATION:
The magician simulates a grand illusion in the palm of the spectator’s hand. A tiny foil covered “Magical Egg” is placed in the palm of the spectator’s hand and then photographed. The phone is placed on their hand.
The egg transforms into a Chrysalis and then into a butterfly. The magician’s finger is seen to tickle the virtual butterfly on screen which then flies away.
Using a magical gesture the magician brings the butterfly back briefly before it flies off again.
The spectator is asked to try and make it return. When they try, they find a matching butterfly (in an impossible location) on the back of their hand. The original foil egg has vanished.
THE CARD REVELATION EFFECT - IN-APP PURCHASE - (for the Professional Magician)

Best prank ever
I saw some of the one star reviews and was compelled to review this app. This is, by far, the BEST prank ever. I have loved practical jokes my whole life and when I was told about this app I immediately bought it and a few fake spiders and cockroaches. Here's the thing: you need to watch a few video tutorials that are embedded in the app in order to understand how to pull it off. I've played this prank easily over 30 times and at least 8 out of 10 people scream and flinch when they see the fake spider on the back of their hand at the conclusion of the trick. Buy this, watch a few videos, practice it on yourself and have a blast! Disregard any of the bad reviews.

Meant for MAGICIANS!
Everyone, let's think logically here: how could an iPhone make a spider appear on the back of someone's hand? Answer: it can't. This app was (and still is) intended for magicians/magic enthusiasts... The props required to perform the effect are owned by most magicians because of an old card trick on the market, however you have the ability to purchase the props within the app... Anyways, unless the app keeps crashing when you try to open it, don't leave bad reviews just because you don't have everything available!

I have had more fun pulling this magic trick/prank on my friends, coworkers and even strangers anyone who who can’t find the finer humor in this isn’t trying very hard. It’s a top-notch prank with great reactions. For the cost and for the ease of carrying it around, it’s a no brainer.
I first learned this illusion with a special deck of card by Jim Webb... equally a effective. It too can be used as a carry around trick, but nut as easily. Not to mention the animation really adds a creep out feel to the spectator!

Best app I've ever purchased!
I have made a living with magic for since 1986. I love effects that fit in my pocket and especially those that use modern technology. When people see the video of the spider they react, but when it literally appears they freak out! My favorite reaction is "That is just wrong!", after they've been screaming and flailing. Then they say, "Do it to my friend!"
Those that gave it one star are probably just learning to tie their shoelaces.

Worth it
I love seeing people react to it. When you get in the app I highly recommend buying the extension for $3 it gives a magic effect to it when you do the card revolution instead of it just basically being a prank.

A fun bit that's easy to do. I'd give it a five star rating if a future update helps with the spider's slight freeze ups. The roach works fine.

I’ve performed this for Masters of Illusion and Don’t Blink. Fantastic bit of magic! Highly recommend! It takes Jim Pace’s “The Web” to a whole new level.

This takes “The Web” into the 21st century! I’ve done this for years and it never fails to generate the desired reaction! This is even cheaper than “The Web.” I love this effect!

If you have the original Jim pace version, then you already understand how cool this is. Adding the iPhone brings a whole new level of creepiness. The spectator is already on edge before the climax happens. They go through the roof at the end. Highly recommended.
