Unique offer from Kairosoft.
Gameplay loop is mostly focused on battling in stages while upgrading your town afterwards. It still maintains that kairosoft charm of "just one last thing" and keeps you playing for ages. No base placing or the like if that's your favorite part, but progression is still supremely satisfying. Kairosoft makes some of the best games in the App Store. You just know when you download/buy one you'll be playing it for the next week at least, WITHOUT having to deal with endless microtransactions and pvp determined by whoever pays the most. And when youre done? Try another! They're cheap, or flat out free. I know this comes off like a raving shill review, but the truth is I rarely review any games, and Kairosoft is one of a handful of companies I can expect quality from, each and every time.

Enjoying This Saga
Maintaining just one mage is nice instead of the entire village! Unlocking new allies and being able to choose where everyone is lined up (or not if you choose not to use someone) is not new but still great. Utilizing the random people in town for commentary on how to do things, giving advice, and random funny comments is by far the best implementation of a “how-to” and highly appreciated! I’m hooked, per usual, by Kairosoft!

I am enjoying the game. Once you get a few town folk to join your team the progression picks up. Upgrades are linked in groups. So if you upgrade hp the cost next time goes up for hp AND mana. Same for atk def and regen. Same for cold fire lit. You might like switching spells or specialize in one element and let your recruits do the other types of magic damage. Upgrading your elements not only makes that specific atk stronger it gets bonus to the atk type. Like bigger splash radius. Only issue is I don’t understand the gear as of yet in relation to its leveling up= power. Gear lvl up and gets stronger prob is my bigger stuff is so strong vs newer stuff I don’t change equipment. And one other thing. Your not grinding zones for diamonds. After each map. Search the down for the man that offers diamonds. It’s 50 per

Limited playtime
I very much enjoy Kairosoft games, however this particular game makes me feel like they don’t want me to play it often. The energy recovery timer is a bit long at 15 min per point of energy. While quests only cost one energy it only takes about 15 min or less to use all your energy then you can only play 1 quest for about a minute or less every 15 min. Or you can stop playing and forget about how much you want to play this game by playing other games while you wait for the energy to fill up. Maybe there is something later stages of the game that will boost energy recovery or give you more energy storage. Well folks that is my only gripe about this game.

Fun and Fresh
By fresh I mean fresh for kairosoft. This game is arguably rather generic, but as a kairosoft fan, this new twist is refreshing. My only complaint is that there appears to be no way to turn off sound and music in the game, but other than that I really enjoy it. And the ability to earn gems by checking out kairosoft games is a nice addition. If the link directs me to a free Kairo game I don’t have I always download it haha. Pretty great idea on the developers behalf. But yeah, thanks for a great game guys. Really.

Nice Leveling Up
Sometimes these small games are hard to level up or take forever to gather the coin in game to level up. This game has an easy way of getting more gems and money without having to wait months to build up. I love Kairosoft.

Familiar characters, side scrolling ‘rpg’
Its another grinder. A fun grinder masked as an ‘Rpg’. It has all the characters (so far, at the snow level) from previous versions of the kairosoft universe.
Ive bought nearly every game by kairo- some are failure time sinks. Others have a fun ‘simulation’ theme to it or a terrible concept. No localization issues.
Not much of a learning curve other than figuring out how formation works.
Classes seem to have little property in damage reduction- other than what you know (range weak, caster flimsy, melee strong). All classes just shoot projectiles. Tank class? Sorry!
For what you get: the freemiun games for IAP isn’t necessary to advance the game. Getting the gems will take a while w/o buying, but you going to grind it anyway to be a perfectionist anyway?

still like kairo
This is a good break from the formula Kairo usually follows. Instead of running towns, diners, apartments, etc., you engage in a pretty simple combat platform and embark on quests. It gets pretty repetitive, but they do their best to make sure it doesn’t get too stale. Overall I’m impressed.

Fun time killer
Pretty straightforward game in terms of level progression, upgrading, etc. Love that your character’s appearance changes with equipment. Ads are a bit annoying but micro transactions aren’t necessary to play and enjoy.

A fun game and is challenging enough to keep you interested. Would like to see some updates that make it easier to get more lodging or stores
