Use Your Device to Detect Magnetic Fields. With this app you can detect wood studs hidden under walls, drywall, plasterboard, or stucco.
Magnetic Detector uses your device's compass (magnetometer) sensor to precisely detect metal studs, nails, screws, and other metal fasteners embedded in all wooden wall studs.
This app operates in a similar manner to other hand-held stud detector tools: as you move the device along the wall, the needle will move and a beep can be heard.
Magnetic Detector is an application which detects the presence of metal nearby by measuring the magnetic field value. This tool uses the magnetic sensor built-in your mobile device and shows magnetic field level in μT (microtesla). The magnetic field level (EMF) in nature is about 49μT(micro tesla) or 490mG(milli gauss); 1μT = 10mG. If any metal is near, the value of magnetic field will increase.
Metal Detector allows to identify any metal object in area, because all metals generate magnetic field which strength can be measured with this tool.

Surprised… and pleasantly so!
I just stumbled across this app this morning, while searching for one with a similar name, and thought I’d give it a whirl. If the readings it’s consistently giving me on my i-devices and MacBook are accurate, then maybe it’s time to go back to using a regular quartz Seiko watch and using a Bluetooth keyboard to put some more space between my body and the left front corner of my MacBook! Also of note were the readings from my old (wired) Apple earbuds and wireless airpods…

Actually worth downloading
Honestly I was skeptical at first but it actually works. One of my magnetic drivers keeps losing screws and now I can see, in numbers, exactly why the others still work lol. Great tool. I’d spend money on it if it wasn’t free.

Great for finding metals
Works quite well to not only find magnetic but metals. With this app I successfully found a dead sprinkler that couldn’t be located due to it’s been underneath the grass. The app interface is simple and not fancy, but it’s a nice concept and working very well.
