Mrs. Ap,
Miserable pop-up interference
It is so unbelievably frustrating that thus app allows constant harassment of pop-up for their viewers. It started that they would pop up and you could immediately close them. Then you had to wait 5 seconds to be allowed to close. Just now it was 25 seconds and they are popping up every 30 seconds or so. It’s just miserable when you are trying to read an article and it is constantly being broken up.
The thing I find incredible is that any of these marketing “professionals” think you will actually purchase these stupid games! I would never even consider it, no matter how appealing they may be, because of the way they are being shoved down our throats. Idiots! It’s too bad because the content is timely and excellent.
USA Justice,
You guys race bait… Terrible!!!!
You seem to promote a significant number of articles promoting white anger. From Critical Race Theory to articles saying whites should be eliminated to articles promoting a democratic effort to encourage immigration votes to sway elections to articles about confederate monuments…. This list of articles is as long as the space available on the web app to show any articles. I know that chaos sells, but to promote chaos is borderline criminal. There are far more instances of love and harmony in the world than the ratio of poor race-baiting reporting that you guys promote. I would have to assume the editors of this site have some deep seated insecurities about themselves to continue to clear these articles. Or, God forbid, they are evil and want to see people die. No one can deny the cruel and murderous history of America, but there is no plot being planned to eliminate white people. There are however efforts to live in a more just society, valuing each and every life with the same love and concern. I would ask that you stop race-baiting, and start highlighting more love and paying more attention to articles highlighting those who are fighting against a more just and loving society/county. God bless the USA.
0vertone,
Stolen minutes of my life...
The news is good, only if you don’t care about editing. Sometimes the stories could use a little more substance and the writing could actually be done by journalists instead of what seems like elementary students. The ads are the worst though. The Newzit ads that they sold out to, are trashy and you see them in every article. Images pop up that I wouldn’t want my kids to see. It’s clear that the DM has no standards. Their regular ads are inconvenient and noisy as well. You might be really into a touching news story, and while you scroll through the pictures some loud video selling some irrelevant product pop up. And when you try to hit the “x” to close it, it’s only a fake one, so it takes you to the website instead. So much for the story you were reading. At this point you just want to throw your phone against the wall out of frustration. Why do I use the app? It used to be good. Everyday I hold on to the dream that the DM will return to their ideals and create journalism that changes us as a society for the better. Not just click-bate stories that are inconclusive and speculative at best.
JFAIII,
Pleasantly Surprised
So, I had never even seen the daily mail prior to downloading the app. I downloaded all the news apps I could find. I wanted to see what had interesting content as well as informative. Daily mail is now my go to news site because they have the political news mixed with the salacious news stories you cannot find anywhere else. All the stories are highly, highly detailed and comprehensive often with videos and always with probably more pictures than you need, although I appreciate them as they help to put you inside the story.

This might be my second online review. I wish I didn’t like the daily mail and it was the Wall Street journal I liked better so I sound more sophisticated, but not so... anyway. Just go to the website, check out both the UK and Us sections... oh and us citizens, vote in Nov (regardless of your political leaning go vote).
Petal445,
A Bug I cannot get rid of!
As I am navigating around the Mail on Line all of a sudden a drumming noise starts, sounds like an audio from a video maybe? I have contacted DM and uninstalled and reinstalled, Closed the phone completely, cleared the cache. If I navigate back to the main page it stops but if I click on an article I start reading and boom! this audio drumming starts again. Normally I love DM but this makes it so annoying I cannot read the articles! HELP!! I re-rated back up to 4 ⭐️ as the bug as finally disappeared. Back to one star as it just happened again! No one has gotten back to me a out this. Interestingly when the whoosh noise followed by drumming started again when I pulled down the page and held it as it was loading then it stopped but something is wrong and it is very annoying. Does not happen on my Samsung tablet
Back to 2 stars as someone finally replied and it has not happened yet today. This has only started since installing ios 16.1
Muuuurphdoggggg,
Used to be great
I used to love this app, I opened it first thing in the morning and again in the evening when it would update. What is going on with these pop up videos though? They make it impossible to read an article as three will pop up at a time and when you exit out they just pop up again. I mean you CANNOT read anything in here anymore the app seriously doesn’t work. It is so frustrating. They pop up whether you watch the whole thing or click out immediately. It’s become completely unusable. Before all that happened though I loved daily mail. The grammar and actual content is pretty bad, but they break stories before anyone else and have pictures most others can’t seem to get. I barely read the articles, because they’ll post the same one literally verbatim everyday. However if you just skim through the title and bullet points and a few pictures you’ll get the jist of what’s going on. If they could fix whatever is going on with their ads I would give a better rating but this bug is ridiculous.
TinyDancer112,
Content often suspect, but app is down right annoying.
While Mail online content is often suspect as they draw from many different sources and rarely fact check they do have a good round up of the news which I then check against more reliable sources. And don’t ever expect the articles to be written with good English. The main reason I’m giving this app a low rating is for the constant advertisements that they throw at you. They are highly annoying. Videos pop up and Banner ads pop up constantly interfering with the reading of the material in the app. While I’ve been able to block the majority of these annoying ads on my home computer I am unable to do so on my iPad and iPhone. Furthermore the app constantly freezes on me. At first I thought it was because my phone is about four years old, but I have a new iPad and the app still freezes on there. I’m constantly deleting and reinstalling it. Just going to give up with it on the smart phone and the iPad and just going to read it on the computer.
Pammy22464,
All they do is divide people. No news
They moderate the comments to the point of causing them to lean left most of the time. They must really think people are stupid. Every article is about who did something wrong. They should also include na na na na in the middle of articles. Can you imagine how popular they would be if they actually reported real news and not to just spew lies and hate? It’s so shameful to the British that they allow this propaganda garbage around the world. Lastly, the folks who work there must be extremely bitter inside to write only hateful and spiteful articles. Is it really worth it? Today, I down vitrr something and it immediately was erased. I copied and pasted the url to an different browser and down voted again. Guess what. They erased it in the spot. They don’t even care if you know they moderate vote counts.

It’s so funny to see these kids moderating the comments to their view faster than the comments are coming in. It’s easy to spot. They must think their readers are stupid.

BIASED AS PHUCK!
This website is full of fake journalist who has a writing educational level of a 3rd grader. Their headlines are always racially charged to invoke anger and will take a news story that has nothing to do with race and turn it into what they need to fit their agenda. They claim to have "news" stories that are not news at all and have nothing to do with anything. If your comments on their articles don't fit their agendas they don't post them. They put their own personal opinions and claim them to be facts, or they just put whatever they think will get people's attention, such as making a generative racially charged article. They have no real "sources" to anything they write and literally just make stuff up as they go, without proofreading and sometimes even literally just copy the same paragraphs over and over to take up space on the page. These people are a joke who think they know everything about America yet are based in Europe.
Java1540,
Lots of content, poor writing
So, DM is a rag. Plenty of freshly uploaded content, but I’m convinced that the articles are written by non-English speakers; I would even guess the words are recorded and then transcribed by a non-English speaker, because typos, poor grammar and words inserted without proper context are common. I doubt articles are proofread, but if I happen to read a well-written article, I’m sure to mention it in the comments.

If you’re looking for pictures of awards shows or the royal family, DM does a pretty good job there. What annoys me about their picture captions is that it’s the exact same verbiage in the article, with the same typos and incorrect wording. Often, you don’t have to read the article; flip through the pictures and read the captions.

Another annoying aspect of the site is that videos start playing on the lower right if you scroll past it. I’ve tried looking for an opt-out feature, to no avail. If an article has several videos, I’m always clicking the X as I scroll to make it go away. Bloody annoying. Stop forcing this feature!!!

Don’t take any information you read on DM as gospel. If you see an intriguing headline, get the gist from DM and go to a reputable news site for confirmation.
