MakePass is a powerful Apple Wallet pass editor: you can start from an empty pass, open a previously saved pass file or import any supported barcode from images, PDFs or directly from the camera. With MakePass AI you can even take a photo of a card or ticket and MakePass will design the Apple Wallet pass for you including relevant text and info extracted from them. Then, you can customize the pass and save, share or store it directly on Apple Wallet. MakePass also supports creating passes with Shortcuts!
MakePass supports customizing passes in a lot of ways:
• Import or manually define the pass barcode type and content with any format supported by Apple Wallet: QR, AZTEC, PDF417 and Code 128 with text payloads. MakePass also allows you to convert unsupported barcodes to any of the valid formats or embed them in the original format as a pass image.
• Add a title, organization, description and custom fields that will be visible on the header, front and back of the pass.
• Define the pass group to select which passes of the same type appear grouped on Apple Wallet. MakePass supports up to 10 different pass groups.
• Add custom images for the icon, logo, background, strip image or lateral thumbnail.
• Set custom colors for the background, titles and body text. MakePass can also automatically infer the color scheme of the pass when you import a barcode or use MakePass AI.
• Choose the type of pass: Event Ticket, Boarding Pass, Generic, Store Card or Coupon.
• For boarding passes set the transit type: Air, Boat, Bus, Train or Generic.
• Set a relevant date, expiration date and up to 10 relevant locations, so the pass automatically appears on the lock screen when it becomes relevant.
• Add an associated app that will appear on the pass on the Wallet app so you can quickly install or launch it.
MakePass also includes advanced features like keyboard shortcuts, Quick Actions, Handoff and full support for automating the creation and customization of passes with Shortcuts!

Notes:
• On iPadOS, as Apple Wallet is not available MakePass will allow you to preview the pass and share or save the generated pass as a file instead of adding it to Wallet.
• Barcodes with Code 128 format are not shown by Apple Wallet on the Apple Watch.
• Barcode formats that Apple Wallet does not support but MakePass can embed as pass images include Code 39, Code 93, EAN8, EAN13, UPCE and ITF14.

App does what it says and works great! Love that you can change groups so that cards aren’t all bunched up.
One feature I wish it had, and maybe this will come in an update, but I would love the ability to add a “header field” in the cards. Meaning ability to add text/data in upper right corner that is still shown when card is not “open” similar to the relevant date option, but with anything, not just date.
To be able to add cards on the device is worth every penny of the developers asking price. Thank you!

Great app with room to grow
Couple comments, don't ask for a review after every pass is made, maybe after the 2nd and 5th and 8th, that way it's not spamming the user. Also, biggest feature I would like is for these passes to show up on the lock screen when I'm within a certain location. Also, I'd like to see a history of recently added passes so I can view them, edit them, or duplicate them with changes.
Still, I love that this app exists and am excited to see what you do with it! Heard about it on Twitter.

- Allow multiple locations to be set per pass. I have a gym membership pass but there a 3 locations in my city. It would be great if I could put all three of them as a location. The app “Wallet Creater” let’s me do this.
- Add other pass options. The app “Pass4Wallet” let’s me add a COVID-19 Passport. That was handy.
- Make the UI more intuitive. I found the interface and flow for “Pass4Wallet” easier to use and navigate. This UX felt a little programmer forward.
- Give option, when editing an existing pass, to overwrite it instead of saving a new copy. That way you don’t end up with 3-5 version of the same pass on the wallet.

This works great and is very easy although I do recommend getting the subscription. I ended up getting the $16 a year subscription because it gave me more features. This app works actually fantastically well and I found it very easy to use. Especially if you use the option New pass with AI. You can preview it before you add it to the Wallet app and if needed, you could add additional things.

Great app with active development
The new location functionality technically works, but I have to zoom around a map and go back and forth with a Maps app to find the right spot for the pin. Would be great to eventually see a way of just typing an address. I know lookups like that aren’t the easiest, so the pin works for now!

Amazing quality and features
I saw this app because of the dev’s twitter and it seemed like something useless but kind of useful for certain scenarios. Turns out I now use this everyday, from scanning my id at school, to even paying using Costco’s membership barcode. It is truly amazing once you give it a try! (Just hoping for images to be added soon)

I don’t really know what these other reviews are talking about? It does as its advertised, it’s got a non-intrusive interface, and frankly I didn’t even know this was still possible, Id thought custom passes had died years ago with the PassBook ~> Wallet transition. Don’t hesitate, this app is great.

Just about perfect
I have used other apps to make wallet passes. This one stands heads and shoulders above the rest.
It supports full range of pass types and formatting options. Passes I have made with this app look as good as anything that comes with an app. Editing passes after the fact is very easy as well.
Only two things I would ask:
- HSL color adjustments so I can easily get a lighter or darker shade of a color.

I wanted an app like this for so long! Simple and easy to create new Wallet pass. I would like to have option to add a custom banner image and ability to edit previously created passes. It’s already a great start!
