noicei,
Account balance from $8,000+ to everything being $0.00(now sitting on 6mil+)
I opened my account to hop on SOS and it wouldnt let me buy any stocks bc all my shares dropped to $0.00 along with my account balance i hope this is just a glitch that will fix soon. UPDATE: I'm now sitting on $6,359,156 all done by consistently trading high volatility stocks like TKAT, RHE, LEDS and EEIQ (just some examples) what i hate though is the delay... sometimes itll be on time but you have to constantly refresh its definitely not live paper money trading... and usually near the end of the trading day around 2:45-4 pm it becomes sooo lagged behind the actual market... there is no candlestick charts AND no graph for your portfolio, my gains are insane after all and id like to see them pictured on a graph... cmon marketsim youve been on the app store forever let the ppl see a portfolio graph

Aesthetically pleasing simulator but has many glitches
This application is really nice however has some glitches that make trading very annoying. Sometimes if you go to trade it shows that the company is at 0.00 and because of that your 10,000 you start with actually ends up going to a much lesser number based on shares literally as if the company dropped to 0.00. Although this may be annoying, it can be solved with multiple refreshes and when the reasonable amount of money comes up, then it can go back to normal. But what makes this issue a main issue is that sometimes when that happens, and by mistake you trade or sell a company then it glitches out and gives you a random number and you lose a large portion of your money. At that point I just have to re-download the app and start again which is frustrating especially when a lot of progress is made. This is the only prominent issue that makes it not that great of a simulator, but if this is fixed it would make this app very nice because the aesthetics of this app is very pleasing and also very sleek looking.

App No longer Working!
UPDATE: as of 12 March 2020, this app still does not work for me. It always crashes within mere seconds of opening the app. If there is any support team that is able to help, it would be much appreciated! I had bought the ad free version a good while back, but now can’t even use it! It has been like this since July of last year for me. I don’t mind starting over, but I don’t want to lose my watch list. Please help!

Since 3 July 2019 all the way up until today, 10 July 2019, the app has completely stopped working for me. It’s not that I can’t buy or sell; it’s that I can’t even open the app! As soon as I open the app, it almost immediately crashes, usually within a half second, sometimes lasting as long as two seconds. I cannot do anything about this and my balance was ~$130,000. I really don’t want to have to start over just in trying to troubleshoot the app! Please fix this, I’ve never had a problem with the app crashing other than maybe a couple random times up until July 3rd. Superseding that date, the app has been fully non-functional. I have an iPhone 8.
somebodywhocares2,
Did the app just give me shares?
This app has been really fun so far. however I’m a little bit worried that it is trying to make it seem like I’m doing better than I really am right now. I started of and invested 13,000 just a couple months ago, just recently that shot up to ~28,500 because of some Tesla shares I had. BUT originally I had only bought three shares of Tesla, then yesterday Tesla shot up and I had nine or maybe 7, so I sold 3 of them. lo and behold I log in today and I have 18! Now as far as I know there really isn’t any reason for this, and I’ve heard that sometimes simulators will do things to make it so you seem more successful in order to get you to invest in real stocks. Which makes me wonder if that is what this app is doing. Keep in mind this is only happening with Tesla, so it possible that Tesla may be paying this company to make them look good? I couldn’t say. Note: this is all before the scheduled Tesla stock split
I_am_Maize,
Great! Except two things.
I love the app, it’s great for someone like me who hasn’t put any real money into stocks and is just learning how it all works. The only two things I don’t like about the app is the delay. I have another Live stock app that shows everything as it’s changing and that’s great and all but this app doesn’t update live so that’s a bummer. The other thing is that it’s not very informative about the stocks. If you want to buy a share or even just look at a company you have to know exactly which company you want and search for that. What I mean by that is theirs no browse section. I just think that would be helpful. But don’t get me wrong I love the app and I’m going to keep using it, it would just make it better if it was live and had a browse section.
jared esq,
Simple with Potential
This app is simple and fun, and lets you do a risk-free run at the stock market with 10,000 fictitious dollar. However, the one critical feature that restricts this app from reaching it potential and me enjoying it as much as I could, is the lack of a return summary in the Account Page. For example, how much of a percentage and dollar return per stock you have earned since the initial purchase. The way the app is currently constructed is that you’d have to do the math for cumulative returns per stock. Henry, if you are seeing this, your app is almost where it needs to be, and I could see a lot of my work friends using it with this additional critical feature. From my limited review of what’s on the App Store, this is the best US-based stock simulation app available.

Great App - Until I bought Nvidia
This app was fantastic!! I’m not 18 yet, so I wanted to get a little experience in the “market” before I actually bought stock. The app did exactly what I wanted for so long! I was so excited to use the app every time I opened it. However, a few days ago I bought one Nvidia stock. At first, it was fine, completely normal. Then the next day, I checked it and saw I was up $2,500 in a day. I checked through all the stocks and it just didn’t add up. the day after that, I was up $10,000 in a day. Then I saw it. Somehow, I was being randomly given dozens, then hundreds, then thousands of Nvidia stock. for no reason. Right now I am sitting on like $10,000,000 because of this glitch. Now I need to delete the app, reinstall, and start all over. I wish they fixed the Nvidia glitch!
BlendedSpider,
Solid app. Does what it says. Ads. Not a lot of stocks.
This app is a great and functional market simulator, just as described. The only things that I find kinda weird about the actual simulator is that unlike a real stock app, it doesnt give you a lot of info about the stock, and you cant buy after hours at all, whereas on the real stuff you can often buy after hours for an extra fee if I understand it correctly. The app gets a little annoying with the ads, oftentimes every time you make a buy or a sell, but they gotta make money somehow on a fake stock market right? Only other thing thats weird is it doesnt have a lot of stocks to simulate, especially stocks from "smaller" companies.
eskape pro,
Problematic
I really liked this app at first but I have two major complaints. First, there is no live update so you have to continually swipe down to update the price of the stocks. That isn’t so bad but if something changed and you didn’t update it, when you try to sell you could lose some. That gets really annoying. The second thing is, the app has started glitching badly for me. I would try to sell a stock and it would suddenly jump to $0.00 for the value of the stock and I would lose thousands even though the stock in reality was still at the current market price. I don’t know why it does this but it was really frustrating to try to make a sale that would have resulted in a profit but because the app suddenly said the stock was worth zero dollars I instead lost several thousand. This makes it almost worthless. If the app is fixed it would be excellent.
Keine Liebe,
App no longer works
I used this app for months without any issues, but recently the search function stopped working. If I can’t search for stocks, then I can’t buy them, so now I’m not using the app at all. I looked for a way to contact customer support but haven’t found anything. The customer support link in the App Store leads to a Twitter profile, not an actual way to get assistance. I hope they fix the search function. MarketSim is useful when you’re still learning to invest and want to play around without taking big risks. I was using the app to see how I do at picking stocks without losing any real money. It was fun and was helping me to become more comfortable with the process. I am very risk averse and am still learning to trust my own judgment. It’s great for that!
