Description

This application is designed to provide up to the minute information about the wind and forecasts in and around Melbourne, Australia for sailors, windsurfers, kitesurfers, fishermen and even cyclists.

MelbWinds provides the following:-
- current conditions from locations around Melbourne and Victoria.
- the locations can be sequenced based on wind speed or on how far away from your current location
- all locations are mapped out so that you can see where they are and visually understand how strong the wind is and in what direction
- marine forecasts for the whole of Victoria
- weather forecast information for Melbourne
- Radars for the whole of Victoria.

This application is used by World and National Champions...

Version 5.0 is being released for summer with many new features to make it easier to find where/when you should make the most of the wind.
The major changes are:-
- added all the Victorian rain radars and dopplers to help understand about weather in your vicinity.
- added Black Rock Yacht Club and Mordialloc Sailing Club wind meters to get a better understanding of data around the bay.
- able to sort data based on wind strength and distance away.
- able to select locations based on wind strength.
- made it easier to select different marine forecasts (just tap on the page title).
- changed the BOM wind modelling to their new models, and have extended the data range to be further into the future.
- added more detailed Melbourne forecast to help understand what might happen.
- added the ability to set an automatic refresh of wind data. You can now have the map open and see the wind change around the bay and state as the data is updated on the BOM page.
- refresh of the wind data and the forecast data can be done by doing a "pull down" on the table.

There are lots of changes, so if you have any issues, please get back to us asap so we can fix any problems.
