I have hundreds of snapshots I’d like to digitize and when I saw this app, I thought my prayers had been answered. They haven’t. The app does a good job of quickly “seeing” your photo, cropping it correctly, and saving it. It’s when you actually go back and look at your photos that the app fails. The shots it takes are low-res. Seriously low-res. The iPhone has a fantastic camera in it that takes beautiful, hi-res photos that are suitable for expanding, cropping, and that look great on a big HD monitor or TV. Not so with this app. The photos look OK on the phone, but they’re fuzzy when you look at them on a laptop. They’re completely useless on a bigger screen like an iMac or a TV. If the photo has words or logos (a t-shirt, a sign in the background, whatever) it will just be a blob of color, completely unrecognizable.
I absolutely LOVE the concept of this app and I was ready to gladly pay for the upgrade to remove the watermark and the ability to send the pics to the camera roll. If it gets upgraded to take full-resolution shots that look good on a screen larger than a phone, I’ll happily change my rating. As it is now, it’s a good concept poorly executed.
