Mental Math Cards is designed to help people of all ages and skill levels improve their arithmetic abilities through easy to remember (and use) tips, practice question sets, and an addictive game. Unlike many other math apps, advanced problems are also supported to keep things challenging as your skills improve.
Mental Math Cards is fully integrated with Game Center - providing both Leaderboards and Achievements. The Game Center features allow you to test your skills against the rest of the world and to share your scores and accomplishments with friends.
Mental Math Cards provides step by step instructions on how to approach solving all of the problems it shows - for all operations and difficulty levels. Each difficulty level for each operation type is carefully thought out to build on the skills mastered in previous levels. For instance, hard multiplication problems are shown to be solvable by breaking problems down into medium and easy level problems.
Students: Prepare for the math sections of the PSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, and MCAT, as well as for regular school tests. Many tests don't allow for calculators, and greater comfort with arithmetic will still improve your scores even if calculators are allowed.

Well Done
Honestly, you would think it’d be easy to find a simple math practice app, but there’s so many bad ones. This one is super easy to use. The interface gets out of the way so you can focus on the math itself. The buttons are easy to press, the numbers are displayed clearly, and the last update allows the numbers to be read out instead of shown; this is an excellent feature. It’s very likely that if you have to do mental math it’s because the numbers are given to you verbally as opposed to on paper, so this allows a whole additional degree of practice. The things i’m missing in this application, and I’m hoping will be added are: 1) More customization/difficulty with the numbers. For example i’d like to multiply 2 digit by 3 digit numbers and 3 digit by 3 digit numbers. 2) Decimal places! This is another thing I’d like more practice on. 3) Negative numbers. Similar to the other aspects, i think this just would be a nice addition. Sure some of these things exist in other apps, but those ones all just feel harder to use and are clunkier. This is by far the cleanest, simplest mental math app, so i’m willing to wait for more updates.

Terrible math game
The reason I hate this math game is because it gives you a timer for only 2 minutes and you can’t just think freely instead it forces you to be overwhelmed by how you know it’s counting down every single second and with that to white something like 628 it would appear as 826 and would be backwards meaning you would have to write it backwards and also with that all being said another thing is that how will I have time if I only get 2 minutes in multiplication if I choose medium or hard mode and I have to have scratch paper because it’s something like 68x42 in 4th grade you learn how to do that but you only get 2 minutes? That’s like telling a kid as a teacher to hurry up even though they are in the 2nd grade and it’s 34x23 usually you don’t learn it by then in second grade you barley start doing multiplication for some kids there even is no multiplication a and with the timer also comes division for division if your at least not in the 4th or 3rd grade solving division might be pretty hard especially when your being rushed and only 2 minutes and also long division for example if your on hard mode in division it will give you stuff like 82 divided by 7362 so you only then get 2 minutes what if a kid just wants to work on his division step by step they’ll barely get anything done and with all that. Being said this is why this is a terrible math game

It helps me learn -,x, and + for pre-K kindergarten first grade 2nd grade and all the way grades up it helps me learn reading science history and the best thing of school is math what the times divided by pluses minus love things that’s why I like it. The thing that I also like about this app is the math times divided by minus minus his pluses oh that kind of stuff thank you so much who made this app I’ll I’ll do this for Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday and Saturdays hold away every week every day and holidays to including tomorrow plus tomorrow’s memorial day and I’m so excited because no school and on Tuesday, is fun I like it because fun stuff happens to me all the time and I’m almost The end of second grade I’m about to be in third grade which is the hardest I mean I have to like speed it up speed speed speed on pre-K we left very early was good easy I was about to get warning next time I get lots and lots of red points there is read points in green points usually I like to get green points and that’s why I like it.😸😸😸

Possible to allow the user to select mixed ops
Great app, but I have a couple suggestions that would make it even better. (1) is it possible to allow the user to select which operations they want to work in in ‘mixed ops’ as opposed to only allowing all 4 ops? For example, a user might want to work on a mix on multiplication and division problems (but no addition/subtraction).
(2) is it possible to have different difficulty levels within the mixed ops? So, instead of having the same difficulty level for all operations, maybe allow the user to select a different difficulty level for each operation. Useful for drilling down simple calculations
I’m using this for my high school math classes only to speed up mental math calculations and get more fluent in it, while minimizing simple mistakes. Setting aside a few minutes a day to do this is already proving useful for things like factoring where knowing the multiple different factors already helps quicken the process. The only downside to this would probably be that you must pay for an in app purchase in order to unlock a mixed mode to become more familiar in real world scenarios, but even then, it would help develop the app more and make the learning experience much better. Anyways, it’s a great app, and if you’re looking to quicken up some basic arithmetic this is the one I would highly recommend. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

My current favorite app
I often will do multiplications on hard mode to practice. I am now using the voice method to practice. Soon I will practice division as well, and hopefully see some improvement. All in all this app is great and it’s very easy to use. I ask the developers please don’t try to change it to make it better. It’s already pretty good. If the developers add anything keep it separate from the basic multiplications. I would say adding a theory section with tips for a rapid multiplication tricks would be appreciated. Also a super hard mode with triple digit multiplication would be useful as well. I hope this message reaches the developers well. All in all, I am super thankful for this app, as it is fun and good for my cognition.

Pretty good game but one issue
I’ve been playing this game for pretty much about a year and I am a master but when i do addition i get something correct and i answer the second question very fast but th recheck distracts it wastes time and without the check you know what questions you did right at the end cause maybe it will repeat a same question again who knows and this issue happened to me for a year straight and today I had enough of it and so the check should be removed and I am in 8th grade right now that’s why I’m good at math hope you read this review... But so far this has been a awesome game.. for improving my math and I’m am first in my class from this game but now I am too fast for this game so I hope you remove the check and also my high score is 598 just to let you guys know I could’ve got more bu the check distracted but so far this game is AWESOME

I give this app a Five star rating because it’s good for you and you can see your accuracy, that means how fast you go. It can push you to your limit and there’s even a time challenge that you can pick and that gives you like a 2 min timer!!! I think people should also try XtraMath first because it’s so fun and you can make Mr. B have a sad face on that he didn’t get the question before you did. Let’s get to the main point here though. This app is fun and educational. It can test your and your child’s knowledge and you can even select medium, easy, and hard math facts. Cant see the numbers
I was excited about this app, so i paid for a years subscription; but as soon as I did that I could longer see any numbers, only 3 horizontal bars where they should have been. Thats pretty egregious considering how dead simple the functionality of this app is. Displaying numbers? The most basic computer can do this. Extremely disappointing after paying $15. It was basically stolen from me as the app is unusable.

I fixed this by uninstalling and then reinstalling the app. If any developer views this, my phone is an iPhone 13 mini, if that makes a difference. Seemed like it was missing a font but it was unusual because prior to purchasing I was able to see everything fine. Hoping this doesn't keep cropping up. Definitely should be a top priority bug fix cause it renders the app useless.

No way to change text size
I love everything this app has to offer and I’ve been using it off and on for a few years now, but it looks like from their most recent update the text sized increased and not everything fits on the screen. I’m using an iPhone SE 2020 and already tried changing the text size through the menu.
Update: Nick has been quick to respond to my issue and I completely understand what he’s going through as a fellow developer (web apps). I just happen to have a specific device set to a specific setting (iPhone SE 2020 with display zoom set to “zoomed”). Other than that, the app works perfectly and it does exactly what I want.
Update: Nick has been quick to respond to my issue and I completely understand what he’s going through as a fellow developer (web apps).
