Fantastic!!!!
To have a resource as renowned & respected as the Merck Manual at my fingertips via this app; is tremendously reassuring. The quality of care I can provide is improved when someone presents with unusual / rare signs & symptoms and my mind &/or my body is tired and a decision I'm going to suggest for a patient lacks that good gut feeling,"... this is the right path." Of course, I still present my assessments to a superior... but, in the future, I will be that senior clinician.
A resource such as this is precious, because it allows me to give my best to every person who presents to me for care.
Even though our hours "on the wards" during the years of internship, residency & fellowship have improved (compared to what they were 10 years & earlier) YET the total hours are still quite long when you recall the time that must be dedicated in preparation for clinical seminars, going on Rounds with Attendings, and more. So there will always be tired physicians and surgeons in training, thanks again for this great resource of information.

A helping hand to calm during times of distress
When I found I could get the Merck Pro on my phone I was thrilled. I have referred to the Merck Manual for years and now have it readily available to answer questions from family and friends is wonderful. Wit it being able to make updates quickly and having more information at my finger tips is great. I am a retired RN and the family turns to me when they are unsure of how to approach the doctor for a problem. I can help them understand the problem and what to ask the doctor. Thank you for being with me and my family.

Don’t like the newest update
Please bring back the older version before the latest update. It was better than this one. Before, the sections of each topic can be collapsed for easier navigation to the section of interest. Now, this is removed and if I want to, for example, skip to the treatment of a disease, I have to keep scrolling down. Also, there are random symbols that keep showing in between the text disturbing the reading process. Not to mention that pictures have become harder to see and sometimes don’t show at all. In the night mode, the headlines become indistinguishable from the content text which is also annoying. I really like Merck Manual and I want to continue using it but these issues are making me stay away from it currently.

Fantastic Assistance
This application helps me complete the needs I require for acceleration through the medical field. I served the United States Air Force for 20 years and served as a medic. Isaiah evolved to an independent duty medical technician and found myself in the field both in the United States and abroad in multiple disclosed and undisclosed locations, I utilize this application throughout. it aided me in some risky situations and times where I could not connect with a field doctor the man and women. This is a wonderful app recommended to those in my career field.

Sends you back to homepage after 3 minutes of being dormant
It’s an incredibly useful source for searching information on a variety of medical conditions/medications, but unfortunately the app will reset itself and take you back to the homepage if you exit the app and leave it dormant for even 2-3 minutes, rather than save your place within the app.
From what I’ve seen, that’s a result of some iOS memory management “feature” that you can’t turn off or adjust in the app settings. Regardless of whose fault it is, the app will be of little use to providers if you cannot exit the app even for a minute or two before losing your place. I can’t bookmark every single condition I want to look up. This really need to be fixed.

Excellent Resource! Please add an auto-citation generator!
As a student nurse, Merck Manual is my go to resource outside of what I am required to use for my classes. I often refer patients to the consumer version for further learning about disease processes.
I find the visual layout more inviting to read and I really appreciate the added images & videos that are sometimes included. The information appears to also be up very to date.
Only thing that is missing is an auto citation generator. That would be AWESOME!

Useful for my nursing career
Started using the desktop verison (website) during my second year of nursing school. Found out about it while lookinf for resources and medical literature and was lucky to find it. A year later i found out there is an app for quick reference , great for those who are avid learners and just want to keep that knowledge fresh.

Excellent info; app needs some work
The Merck Manual contains excellent info and I use it often. It’s evident there was a significant effort was put forth in developing the app and most features I find by trial and error. The one annoying issue is if I leave the app for more than a few minutes (even with Background Refresh enabled) I lose my place, and to my knowledge there are no breadcrumbs or history menu to quickly find my way back. Otherwise the app is solid and loaded with excellent info.

For example, podcasts within the app immediately cease playback when the screen of the iOS device has been automatically locked. This results in a podcast listening experience that is characterized by playback stopping every 1-2 minutes (i.e., whatever frequency the iOS device is set to lock).
This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the most basic elements of iOS app behavior and suggests that even the most basic testing and quality assurance measures were neglected throughout the development of this app.

iPhone 5 Updates Compatibility
I have an iPhone 5 and everyday I am prompted to update this app, but upon doing so, the updater asks for me to download a previous version instead. Every single day! Can you please address this issue by either releasing a version that works with iPhone 5 or check the device first and offer an appropriate update? The current situation is very annoying.
