Very good app but can’t select and copy the camera info
I really do like the app, it’s clearly a labor of love by the developer(s). Plenty of key features make this a great app. I have only one other feature I wish it had; the ability to copy the camera metadata so I can paste the text elsewhere in apps on my phone (like notes and in social media post comments accompanying my photographs). Other photographers are often interested in the camera, iso and other camera settings but aren’t going to dig into the exif data embedded into the photo to find that info. That addition would make the posting workflow so much easier. It’d be a five star app for me.

I’ve been using Metapho for a couple years, seems like and wow, they’re all over the app with consistent update frequency. Their customer service (if you need, you won’t) is quick and easy to follow their instructions if applicable. It does allow for deep metadata cleaning as well. While it’ll take a bit more space - it does what it claims aplomb. And the $3 ‘support donation’ (I wouldn’t call this an IAP, in reality software and programs that were this capable were a ‘c note!’ If available, and could be only run on a desktop machine with plenty of power and time. Today, for a three dollar bill it’s done in milliseconds, hardly noticeable anything was done!!

I use it as a data ‘filler’ usually but I’ve definitely benefited from the app in situations where the metadata isn’t something I want shared with the snap

Must Have.
I don’t have the paid version, I don’t need it. But I’ve been using it for I think years and it’s always worked perfectly. Great if your an amateur and you just want to check the pixel dimensions of an image from iMessage or sms or if your a pro who’s importing DSLR photos and need to see your EV when studying your shots on the go. Like another review said, Apple is lacking by not having this natively and this app perfectly makes up for it. (Google photos also shows some of the exif data I believe so some people probably use that) Also it’s perfect because you can see the data in the Apple photos app: click share (box with arrow) and then select Metapho even if you aren’t sending it but just to view. (You can select multiple at once and the interface is the same as in the app BRILLIANT!) Customize to put Metapho close to the top of the share options list to streamline the workflow :)

Still worth keeping around, even with iOS 15
When iOS 15 first came out and I saw it had native metadata viewing, I naively thought I could delete Metaphoto (have been using for years). Apple’s implementation is much worse. For starters, it only works in Photos. Compared to Metaphoto that works anywhere there’s the share button (I use it in Messages all the time).
Apple also frequently has the focal length field blank for photos imported to my library from my canon, even while Metaphoto can accurately show me all the fields.
Metaphoto is simply a must-have for any photographer.

Should be included in iOS it’s so good
This is a fantastic companion app for Photos for iOS. It really is great for modifying location data for pictures that I have imported from my Canon camera to my iPad. We all know how much of a pain it is to take pictures with a DSLR that lacks GPS. This app allows you to select multiple photos and tag the correct geolocation data for all of the photos that lack that data. Couldn’t be happier with this app. Would gladly pay more or even an annual $5 subscription or something. Well worth it. Polished interface and bug free in my usage so far on iOS 11.

The best EXIF/metadata editing app I’ve come across so far
Tried a couple of apps, this is really the best EXIF/metadata editing app - the functionality completeness, the UI design, the stability of the app (esp. not messing up with anything else on the pic file/metadata).
I used to keep another app which has more complete view of EXIF and other metadata - back then Metapho only showed part of the metadata info. Now that Metapho also offers a complete view, no need to keep that one anymore. I’m happy that the developing team hear what the users need and keep improving the product. Definitely worth the $3 price.

Batch real metadata editing added
The developer listened to feedback and added the ability to edit metadata for photos without doubling their file sizes (which happened before). This removes revertability (but you can still go to Recently Deleted to recover the originals) but that’s not very important when adding locations to photos.
This makes Metapho the perfect companion for someone with a digital camera. I use the lightning to SD card adapter to import my camera photos to my iPhone, batch edit their metadata using Metapho, and everything’s great. Well-designed app!

No options to sort photos or select an album
THIRD REVIEW UPDATE: Changed my rating to 5 stars after they added the ability to select albums.....but now I'm lowering it down to 4 because the photos from my albums are sorted chronologically based on when they were taken, NOT in the order they appear on my phone. Really annoying.
Why doesn't the app access/show albums for ease of finding a photo?! It's insane to show photos sorted by *original* date taken, and no other options.

Best metadata app on iOS!
This is the best app to edit metadata on iOS! It handles both videos and images which is nice. Thank you for making such a great product!
If there is one thing I could request, it’s the ability to copy metadata from one item and paste it onto another ( my use case is when I remove slow-mo from a video in iMovie, the exported video should have the same metadata as the original. Copying would make it much quicker! )

After just coming back from Disney, I wanted an app that I could adjust the photos day/time. While I know I can use the Photos app on my Mac to do that, I wanted an iOS app that could too. This app is perfect! It allows you to easily view your photos, review the metadata, and edit it if necessary.
If there was one thing I could change it would be to see icons on each of the thumbnails so you could at a glance tell which photos don’t contain location/time metadata.
