Still Playing After All These Years
I bought this like ten years ago to play on my iPad 2, and I've played it on every device I've had since then. It still works great on my iPad Pro, and remains a speedy retro break. It's a wonderful nostalgic recreation, and a fun little action game.

Ever played any of the old Game & Watch series? This is just like that. Fun, hectic, endless action just like those little handhelds. 5 stars in my book!

Doesn’t work on iPhone X
I used to love this game on my iPhone 6, but after upgrading my phone, it no longer works. The app loads for a moment then shuts itself down.

Overall, very fun to play and this is definitely straight out of the 80s. I only wish the screen where the actual gameplay takes place was bigger. I know the developers are trying to keep this as accurate to the LCDs as possible, but it's hard to see what's going on sometimes. Just put all the controls at the bottom and widen the screen. I don't think a more visible screen would detract from the retro-ness of this game enough to make people not like it. Please make it bigger, I really enjoy playing this game!

I saw this game reviewed on app advice. Being a kid in the 80's growing up with these handhelds this was an instant buy for me. The game does everything right to capture the look and feel of an original handheld. I love that when you press on the game screen you get a rainbow effect like you are pressing too hard on an actual screen.
The game itself is fun too. It's simple, but with game center support you are always challenging yourself to try "just one more time" to beat that previous score.
It's also a universal app so I can play it on my iPad 2, and my iPhone 4 on the go.
I hope the developers release another game like this. Maybe make a series.

Nostalgic!
This nostalgic game took me to my childhood when I used to play a quite similar game in which a monkey had to catch apples with a stick and avoid angry bees as well. Monkey Labor has a very simple interface with start, menu and movement buttons; exactly like the original handheld gaming device. The gameplay is simple too but because of building difficulty at an agitated pace, it’s addictive as well. It also supports GameCenter achievements and leaderboard.

Amazing, fun, nostalgic return to the '80s. I really had forgotten about LCD games and how much fun so many of them were to play. This game is no exception. This is a wonderful trip back to adventure and new discoveries, and reminds us that simple can ofttimes equate to fun. Simple graphics, simple play, and a whole lot of happy times. You know, so many of the retro games focus on 8-bit or 16-bit graphics that many of us forgot about LCD. Well, guess what? It's back! So if someone tweets about Monkey Labour, tweet right back...OMG, IT'S TRIPINDICULAR!!

i originally had a problem with the game crashing all the time on this version, but tech support emailed to let me know that if you delete the app and reinstall it, it should clear any corrupted saved data files from previous versions...this trick seems to have worked for me! ...Besides that one glitch, Monkey Labour is one of my favorite iOS games!
