Description

From the maker of the world-famous CB app (http://appstore.com/cb), Morse is another addition to the collection of outstanding retro-communication apps!

Morse is simple: the entire screen is your morse code key, so tap anywhere to start recording your message. You'll hear your tones as you tap (if you don't, turn up the volume!), and a red recording light will show in the upper right corner of the screen. When you're done with your message, just stop tapping, and the recording light will go off, and your broadcast will go out to all the other active users of the app!

Broadcasts are queued and will come in one after another, so you don't have to worry about your message being lost when another person keys up. Also, if you've got your location services turned on, people receiving your broadcasts will see the region around where you're broadcasting from. They won't be able to zoom in and see your specific location, but it'll be enough to get the idea that they're hearing from Tokyo or Tacoma, Texarkana or Timbuktu.

A basic morse code cheat sheet shows by default on the main screen, but you can turn that off with the flick of a switch if you're good enough not to need it!

ji1963,
Nice idea but...
This is a great idea, but it’s not possible to send Morse code smoothly because there of the lag time from when you tap the screen to when the tone sounds. I’ve used other Morse Code apps and this isn’t a problem with them. I use Morse code on a regular basis and it’s basically impossible to send Morse Code with this app.

I’ve listened a few times (not for very long) and haven’t heard any other users yet.

I’m keeping this app for now with the hopes that a future update will solve the lag issues and that more people start using it. Like I said, it’s a great idea.
Cousin Isaac,
Morse + CB = Awesome!
Morse is like a combination of a Morse code and CB radio. You tap your message anywhere on the screen and it goes out to everyone with the app. It's an elegant, oldschool way to communicate and is so simple you'll be like, "Why didnt I think of that?"
