I use this app to shoot video of birds, close up, on a window feeder. Because I’m shooting through glass, auto-focus is a bit of a pain, so it’s nice that I can turn auto-focus on in the settings, focus on the bowl, then turn auto-focus off, effectively locking focus.
Things I’d like to see:
1) A full “manual focus” feature, where you can set-up/frame the camera, click a spot and have it auto-focus once. Then, once you turn on the recording, focus is locked.
2) It gets a little bit confused going between extremes of light and dark. So the auto-exposure is weird, possibly linked to the manual-focus issue/switch?
3) On the rear camera of the iPhone XS Max, I can switch between the 1x and 2x cameras but I’m not seeing the full “wide” mode of the 1x lens. This is possibly related to HD (1080p) shooting versus 4K. Will have to experiment more. But I’d like to see “full frame” HD, if possible.
4) Not sure what’s up with the App Store but it’s complaining that this app isn’t available in the App Store when I go to review directly from the app. Maybe a bad review link needs to be updated?
Otherwise, I see this app being the “go to” app for recording video triggered by motion!
