Love that the app gives you a full review with every scenario so parents can make informed decisions. We should have a right as to what we want our children to watch instead of things being sneaked in. I don’t like other apps that chose what to tell me about instead of telling me everything that occurs. I want to I choose what I expose my children to.

Wanted a site which clearly & concisely let me know if profanity was prevalent in the content. Since I can’t always go by the movie or TV ratings this app was very clear.

My go to app for navigating in the mad entertainment world. So I can save effort and sanity to not watch what is not worth for me. Thanks a million!!!

This app totally saved me last weekend when I was going to take a group to see a french comedy that looked like a lot of fun in the trailer. Then I checked the Movieguide® App review that showed really heavy nudity and sex content as well as heavy rough language, none of which was in the trailer. Saved myself and several others $14 each, and a lot of embarrassment sitting through a movie that would likely have made me feel like a needed a shower and my money back. Thank you, Movieguide! It's also great because they don't just cover the top 5 or so releases like the other "family review" sites. They cover pretty much everything. A huge help for those of us that actually like going to see something other than Kid Flix, but don't mind saving our innocence as well.

the people have been criticizing movie guide for being boring and being a repackaged version of the app store ita just a app where they tell about when movies are good or bad for christians and i belive that non religious people are rating this a 1 star for not beliving what they say, its because there not religious that means they dont know if its offensing christians or not and this is a family guide so thats why the violent movies are like a 2 or 1 out of 4 because its not family friendly but some violent movies are 4 stars for being entertaining and having good storyline i think this is a great app for letting families know what movies are good and wrong

I've used the MG website for some time and found it to be useful in deciding which movies I would or would not watch. Now I have it on my pad and I use it whenever a new movie arrives in theaters. I've had to walk out of movies because the content wasn't acceptable to me. Now I simply check out the "in theater" reviews and make my choice. If you have children, are a Christian, or you are one that doesn't like to watch some of trash that Hollywood brings out, "THIS APP's FOR YOU!"

This MOVIEGUIDE app is a great app. Only, could you include a section for your Award winners in an AWARDS section by year and category of award. Then you can include a review for those movies. When you go into the awards section, there is both a section for year and type of award. Then there is a section for the ratings. Then, when we see a review, we can know if it received a MOVIEGUIDE Award or not.

With this app you see if 1. The movie is good - in regards to plot etc. so you can decide as an adult if you want to see it and 2. If the movie is appropriate to bring children - because the PG-13 rating doesn't always mean I would bring a 13 year old. This app gives a solid recap and heads up on the language, sexual content and violence in the feature which means no parent will be surprised in the theater.

I have used this quite a bit in the Lite version and it has not let me down as of yet. In fact, I took my 3 3/4 years old son to his first movie yesterday! Thanks to this app it was a perfect fit!!!! I have children that are frighten by MOST "children" movies including Disney. This was great, he loved it and asked for another mommy movie date! May God continue to Bless this Ministry!

Love the Movieguide content, but it sadly violates Apple App Store developer guidelines. It is a repackaged version of the website and contains little to no app features, no native user interface (as it used to), and is simply not a useful app like it used to be. It's as if nobody at Movieguide actually uses the app on a daily basis to search for movies, navigate content, get alerts about the latest reviews. There isn't any watchlist functionality. The navigation is broken and you can't get back to the main home screen after looking at a review.

From section 4.2 of the developer guidelines:

"Your app should include features, content, and UI that elevate it beyond a repackaged website. If your app is not particularly useful, unique, or “app-like,” it doesn’t belong on the App Store."

Please devote more resources toward making a real native Movieguide app.
