I’ll have to agree with Mr. “nice try“
Yikes! This app has been in the App Store since the App Store was new. That explains the archaic graphics.
Last update was two years ago, you know this app could be a really good app if you just got in here and updated it to use the most modern versions of Swift and HTML5. Lots of programming improvements are available since two years ago.
I mean, I liked the idea of this app which is why I gave it three stars
But:
Could not add music
Could not play any of the received videos I got, and I sent two that allegedly were received.
Actually, the files were sent from one device to the other. Well, files were sent. I was choosing various video files, files that I selected were not the ones received on the receiving device. But, there is absolutely no access to sent or received a Files on either device. The files go into a temporary folder in the apps’
var/mobile/containers/(Multi bang app folder) documents and /tmp folders.
Do not ask me how I got access to the folders on my device, that’s a secret. Fact is, sometimes the files are sent to the receiving device, but they are totally in accessible for any standard user on a stock device. Seeing as how all devices sold by Apple are stock, that it is completely impossible to access the files that are sent.
I mean, most modern apps automatically create a folder for document access in your iCloud Drive. That’s where sent and received documents should go automatically. But the programming of this app is so archaic that it does not have access to the new Apple “Files“ app. All of the other apps that I use to create content or even move things around have folders in my Files app: iAwriter, Pages, iMoovie, and FileExplorer Pro.
On the off chance that this app could be sending the files into my iCloud drive, I checked my Files app and there was not a blessing thing created by this app. And that’s basically how apple treats file transfers from device to device, through your iCloud drive. Four years ago, it was done through the iTunes app when you connected your phone to your computer you could access the contents of your apps’ Documents folders through there. But today since there is no more app accessibility in the iTunes app or even an iTunes app for PCs lower than windows 10 anymore, The document file functionality of most apps have been relegated to the iCloud Drive. This just shows how old the programming of this app is, and I believe it should be rewritten from head to foot and that apple should remove this from the store until it has been modernized. I mean this app defies just about all of the standards that are given to developers for App Store apps. i’ve seen more modern and better apps removed from the App store for things not even as bad as this, and for some reason this app is still in the App store.
Interface is buggy end it looks horrible when you rotate your screen, the interface controls do not rotate with the rest of the screen.
It really doesn’t look very good.
Keep working on this though and I will keep this installed I hope you have some updates with some improvements soon.
Oh yes, one of the reviewers who gave this a positive review (who appeared to be “Apps gone free” download Shills) said that “unlike any other apps, this app allows you to share video etc.“
Uh, UM, *AHEM*:
You can do this from within your photos app without having to use a third-party app. Just use airplay or create a shared album with whatever photos and videos you wish.
Sharing music, however, I think the reason why this does not work is because well for one it is illegal to give somebody else any music that you buy from iTunes. I mean you can download it on other devices that you own that have your iTunes account, but you can’t give it to somebody else which appears to be the function of this app. I mean if you load your personal music into the app then that should not be a problem, music that you only MP3 files for, should be no problem.
But sharing iTunes music? Ya can’t do that.
OK I just sat here for 20 minutes trying to send files back-and-forth and guess what? It don’t work.
I mean this app could be a good assistant for the already existing AirPlay and iCloud sharing features, but it ain’t, not at this moment.
I was willing to give it three stars with the assumption that the app worked, but since it did not work, I must bring it down to one star.
