Description

Sing, whistle, hum or play an instrument and watch as Musique tracks the musical pitch in real-time. Record it live!

See exactly what note is being played. Use it to tune your instrument, play along to scales, or just experiment for curiosity and fun! Do you have a tune in your head that you can hum or whistle but can't figure out what notes to play on a piano or other instrument? Discover what they are with Musique.

Have you ever wondered what is the range of your singing voice? Or the range of your speaking voice? What note is the beeping of a reversing truck? Solve life's greatest pitch mysteries.

As usual with this kind of app, the pitch detection is not perfect. It works with one note a time and fails when given polyphonic music. A quiet environment is advised although it can still function with background noise, just make sure you are loud and clear! The detectable range is from C2 to F7.

Feel free to send feedback or feature requests by using the feedback option in the app or by visiting https://www.facebook.com/musique.15

Last but not least in case you missed the instructions screen, swipe right to open the menu, and tap the screen for the record button!

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

Support for iPhone X screen and a general maintenance update to ensure Musique keeps working for the foreseeable future.

While I am not adding new features at this point in time, I am researching into more robust pitch tracking for guitars and other polyphonic sounds.

Bug fix for iOS9 where the app looks frozen.

You can now configure the pitch for A (default A440). For example, you can select A435 or A443 instead.

This was a feature request from a user for A443. If you have ideas or feature requests (or bug reports), please send me feedback! You can contact me at mike.musiqueapp AT gmail.com

I would also love to hear what you are using the app for. (I am using it to assist my violin playing.)

Play along with scales, or play along with notes Musique has previously detected. For example, play a melody on piano and have Musique detect the notes, then play along with that melody on your violin or guitar.

Also other apps can now play music in the background over the speaker and Musique will pick up the sound from the microphone.

Make live recordings of your session! Simply tap the screen to reveal the record button. Videos are exported directly to your photo/video album.

Please note that older devices (such as iPhone 5) do not record smoothly at 60fps, so please try toggling to 30fps. Newer devices like my iPhone 6 should be able to record at 60fps no problem. With enough feedback about what works for each device I can put in some sane defaults.

Also fixed a bug where the app stops working properly after going to home screen.

If you have any feedback or feature requests I would love to hear it. You can drop me an email at [email protected]

Simple Yet Complete
I can’t really think what else a musician or singer would need to check pitches. It functions in real time and the interface is clean. Thanks for creating it!

Necessary for any musician!🎵🎶
I use this app to transcribe music from games and shows/movies to sheet music, or use it in tandem with the app Auxy Beats. For what it's worth (it's totally free, and ad-less!), it's perfect.
The detection can be a few notes off, but only by, like, a semitone or two, so it's easy to just adjust it in post. Or maybe I'm just tone-deaf, I dunno. :P
No matter what you do involved with music, this app is a necessity!
