Audio perfection
I've read a lot of reviews recently complaining about the the UI. I respect personal preference, but can't help but feel like many of these complaints are a bit unfounded.
I've been using the app for about 3 years now, and have yet to find another that even remotely compares to the quality, creativity, and length of Naturespace tracks. The UI update was fine. Nothing life changing, but nothing detrimental either. The sleep timer is pretty slick once you set it up, which does indeed have several steps, but certainly isn't complicated. Many of her new features are simply visual: prettier, bigger track images and higher saturation, lightening flashes on the screen for those lightening tracks, and a folder based organization system for convenience. Perhaps it's just me, but I didn't notice a difference - at all - with the lack of earbud optimization. It sounds pretty much like it did before the update. I'm a big fan. :)
If I had one complaint, it would be of a lack of new tracks and bundles with the release of this update. Experiencing my old tracks in a new way isn't half as exciting as closing one's eyes, and losing oneself in the magic of a new track. I understand the recording process is extremely time-consuming, but I think I'd have preferred to be blown away with the new tracks and UI update TOGETHER. Some tracks are indeed more three-dimensional than others, but look luck finding an app with equal quality even on hose "flatter" tracks.

Very Realistic, High-Quality Sounds!

My favorite track is titled “Serpentine.“ It’s a recording made at night in some remote, mountainous canyon where two distant trains are traveling on railroad tracks. The main sounds are the crickets that are all around you as well as the wind rustling the leaves and grass that are also all around you. Every once in a while, though, you can hear the faint sound of a train horn. Hearing that distant, forlorn, and lonely train horn always makes me stop whatever I’m doing and listen intently. It’s a really amazing experience! It’s so darn immersive and evocative! It’s difficult to describe how this particular track affects me emotionally. I am concerned, however, that the app has been abandoned by the developers. I hope that’s not the case! There hasn’t been an update in a couple of years now. The app is still functioning properly on my iPhone 11, but an update would be nice — especially if it had some new audio tracks to purchase! please don’t desert this app and let it become abandoned-ware.

Setting the bar to a new high! (March 2023 Update)
Updating my prior review. I have been using this app daily for YEARS! It has become an old friend. In this time when every new app requires a subscription (eg Portal), an app like this that allows you to buy just the sounds you want, when you want/need them is a breath of fresh air. A breath made all the more lovely as I listen to the beautiful wind swirling around me. One feature that I frequently use is the ability to mix the nature sounds with other apps. I like to play waterfalls at low volume while my meditation app (Insight Timer) counts down my meditation sessions. This allows me to block out ambient noise and enjoy my meditation more. Could also be used to have night time sounds playing all night at low volume while allowing the alarm clock app to function at full volume. I notice there haven’t been any new sounds in a while and I truly hope the developers have not abandoned the app. (Also, kudos for allowing fee downloads during covid lockdown. A company with a social conscience)

Update: -2 stars for the lack of any communication to customers in about 2 years now. I think the pandemic killed all ambition of the devs. Though I still use the app almost daily, there haven’t been new tracks in years, inquiries go unanswered and last last update is about 2 years old now and touted “more to come” with no such follow through. Feels much like it’s heyday is well in the past.
First off, let me just say that the customer service from these guys completely blew me away and I have high standards! Regarding the app, outstanding quality! You'll swear you are hearing the real deal. I particularly like the Thunder and Rain line of tracks. Aside for listening to the app for enjoyment while reading or just plain relaxing, it has saved me through some evenings when a neighbor's dog was driving me nuts barking or when in a hotel with noisy guests next door. After trying out the free 6 tracks, consider purchasing the full catalog, very much worth the cost! At the very least, check out their other ambient sound app, Thundergod, which has 5 amazing tracks which will unlock within Naturespace if you have both apps downloaded on the same device :)

This is one of a few apps that I've had for awhile now that has kept up its appeal with gorgeous sound creations of every sort. While I highly value that aspect of this app, what I value even more is that these developer folks have not stooped down to the cheap tricks & tactics of other apps by adding in idiotic & dumb ads that are so tacky there are no words to describe it! I so miss the days of just downloading apps & knowing you are getting a quality app rather than junk or trash & people trying to rip you off! You guys encourage me that there are still a few developers left that have kept their dignity & allow users to download what they want to hear & experience without pushing for reviews & force-feeding stupid ads! Thank You, Naturespace! You make this app all the more better by trusting users to give reviews & download what they want to hear. I definitely appreciate you! And PLEASE don't make me eat my words by ever changing over to those despicable routines! You guys are all about class!☺️

Favorite Ambiance App
Update (-2 stars) - this is still one of the most expansive ambient sound libraries with amazing recordings. But no updates in 2 years is concerning and newer apps like Portal are making immersive ambient tracks that take advantage of spatial audio and other features. Nature Spaces needs to start adding spatial audio to tracks and brush up their UI to stay competitive. Currently their customer service has been unresponsive. I’d hate to see this amazing library fall by the wayside for lack of TLC.

Frozen lake soundscape - ever heard ice on a frozen lake? Make a great soundscape esp if set to music.

Used for nearly as long as they’ve been around
And I love it! I have it on both my iPhone and my iPad. I’ve taken this with me all over the world and cannot sleep without it. I even used it on a cruise ship because I love going to sleep to the sound of waves. On two cruises my cabin-mates didn’t realize we were in the port because of the sound of the waves - lol. I personally have had some issues restoring purchases, not knowing where to click but their support has always been spot on, very understanding and generous with me. It’s no easier than when I had my iPhone 4s. I wish all apps had as good as support as they do. I’ve used different speakers with it and it always sounds consistently well. I found my new Sony speaker is even more realistic than my old JBL. Again, I have use this app on a couple of cruises, in several countries and multiple continents and I can consistently sleep no matter where I am thanks to this app

This is my first app review, I enjoy this app so much I felt inspired to share and get it the attention deserves.
I live with the effects of CPTSD- meaning my nervous system is highly sensitive and I’m easily affected by sounds and surrounding noises. This sensitivity often times makes it tough to fully relax -and focus on things that matter- sometimes because I’m busy just trying to calm down.
The power of this app:
access to such awesome sound scapes has completely transformed the feeling of my home environment. I keep these soundscapes on in the background on low during the day whenever I’m home and I use them at night and in the morning to wake up with ease. The soothing lull of natural white noise has been a game changer to my sensitive system. I’m now sleeping better and feeling more relaxed during the day- I even find difficult tasks have become more doable and even fun with these great sound experiences as the backdrop.
I also enjoy the attention to detail put into the track descriptions- you can really feel the care put into this body of works. I work helping other people(living with the affects of trauma or stress) to find effective solutions to improve and increase experiences of daily peace in their lives- and I’m definitely going to be referring them to this app!!!

I am going to keep this short because my opinion of the Naturespace app and it's support team is very simple.
If you are looking for relaxing, meditative, inspiring or even exciting sounds of nature, then look NO further. When I originally started shopping nature sounds I tried many different apps, and I can tell you there is no comparison to, not only the quality, but the variety that Naturespace has to offer.
To top that off, when an apple update created an issue with a few of the sounds on my Naturespace app, it was less than an hour from the time I sent a plea for help to the time I received a reply from the support staff, explaining in simple terms how to correct the problem.
Ok, maybe I didn't exactly keep it short, but I think you get the message.... Install the FREE app, and then check out the multitude of "products" that they offer. You WON'T be disappointed!

When I originally started shopping nature sounds I tried many different apps, and I can tell you there is no comparison to, not only the quality, but the variety that Naturespace has to offer.
To top that off, when an apple update created an issue with a few of the sounds on my Naturespace app, it was less than an hour from the time I sent a plea for help to the time I received a reply from the support staff, explaining in simple terms how to correct the problem.
Ok, maybe I didn't exactly keep it short, but I think you get the message.... Install the FREE app, and then check out the multitude of "products" that they offer. You WON'T be disappointed!

This App Keeps Me Sane.
Been using this App for years. I’ve got chromesthesia, which means I see color when I hear sounds - this can be overwhelming, especially within our largely urban reality. The colors I experience from an office printer or highway create more stress than the sounds of nature.
Enter this app. It may read as cliché, “this App saved me,” but it did. This plus some noise canceling headphones can instantly calm me down, shut off my anxiety and panic from sensory overwhelm, and mentally bring me from the stressful urban/office world back to nature. If I close my eyes, I’m sitting next to the bubbling brook or aspen grove they’ve recorded. It’s astounding what they have done in terms of sound quality. They bring your ears into the pristine.
I’d love more Colorado and mountain sounds to purchase (e.g. spring runoff from a glacier). Thank you to the creators and developers of this amazing tool - it’s more an experience of peace than it is a standard app!
