Nearpeer for College Hack 3.0.2 + Redeem Codes

This app is extremely helpful for finding a roommate and suitemates. I 100% recommend this to anyone, especially if their college is organized with the groups.

My problem is that the app is very glitchy. At first it wouldn’t show me notifications when I would get messages (I had updated the notifications in settings to show me alerts, but that did not solve the problem), so I deleted the app and then re-downloaded it.

This seemed like a good idea, but it caused a more pressing problem. Now my keyboard is messed up along with the lack of notifications. When I’m chatting with someone, I can only see my keyboard, not the actual words that I’m typing. I can’t even type something on another app and paste it in the text because, again, the keyboard covers it up.

Nearpeer people, I love you, but please fix this problem!

The idea of Nearpeer is brilliant - often students at colleges will turn to outside apps such as Discord or GroupMe in order to form chat groups to meet people from their clubs, their classes, and so on. However, the actual execution is not so great. The app could be greatly improved by some bug fixes - for example, if I open it by tapping on a push notification the app opens as a blank screen and never loads to show what the push notification said (doesn’t open to the new chat in a group, does not open the the peer who followed me
as a notification said, etc.). It would also be smart to have the feature where students themselves could make groups for tutoring/classes and add their peers to the discussion without having to contact an administrator. The option to have polls within groups, to have a calendar with group-specific events, and for facilitators to upload pictures in the chat would be improvements as well. These would help improve the functionality of the app and provide more of an incentive for students to join.

This app needs a lot of work. Super sluggish and glitchy and kicks you out a lot. Very irritating but a super cool idea. With a few minor fixes and improvements this app could have a ton of potential!

I absolutely love Nearpeer! It’s a great and safe place to meet new friends. I recommend everybody download this app ASAP!

To be quiet honest, the idea is right but it’s executed horribly. For one, the layout is horrendous and awkward to navigate. While you do have access to the possibility of meeting new people, hence it’s premise, the app itself makes it quiet difficult.
Whenever I try to navigate, I constantly have to awkwardly maneuver through the interface. It seems like it was meant to be a website, but it instead was forced into a mobile app. Quiet frankly, it seems like the software engineers don’t care about this app at all.
Additionally, I never get notifications from this app. I used to get texts and emails at first, but that doesn’t even happen anymore. Whenever someone texts me or someone in a group chat texts me, no notification pops up. Others have complained about this.
Likewise, it feels as if no thought was really put into the app. Everything is kind of crammed into a mobile app horribly, and it results in a horrible aftermath while trying to reach out to other incoming students.
Therefore, I don’t recommend this app, but if you want to try to connect with incoming freshman or others in your college/uni, then I guess you can try. However, be aware that you will have many difficulties while doing so. I have seen others give 5 stars, but I can’t relate. Tinder is better at connecting with local uni students than this app and that should say something.

I thought that this app was great, the layout is very weird and complicated but other than that it was fine. Until i could never log in again, the log in button doesn’t do anything at all. You press it and nothing happens, it happens in the app and on the online version. I contacted them after i had already tried deleting and reinstalling the app which didn’t work. I emailed them back the same day and haven’t reviewed a response.

As an out of state student, I didn't know anyone in my college class at first. And now my summer orientation is not happening on campus. So I was happy to get this app to help me find other students who live near me and are into sports and other things I like.

Works great for me. I’m kinda introverted until you get to know me. So I like being able to find individual people to connect rather than only a big chat group.

What a great app! Students able to build friendships before campus making the transition to college so much easier.
