Neo Studio Hack 1.41 + Redeem Codes

The Neo folks are no longer supporting Neo Notes, which was honestly the only app capable of making the pens usable. However they are moving to this new Neo Studio, which is horrible compared to Neo Notes. I’m sure they’re going to ask us to “bear with them” while they improve it, but I don’t have much faith. Studio has been out for a while now, and it still doesn’t perform. Transcribing is not as good, organization of notebooks is terrible, the UI is flashy but not useful, it’s slower, and not nearly as good as the first app.

This is all very sad because the pen technology is great, but it’s lagging behind their poor developer skills. You can’t even bring over all your old notebooks from the other app. Until they fix this stuff, I just can’t recommend this.

While they claim that it will synchronize, in reality it is deeply hit or miss. One of my notebooks has only synchronized entries from sometime around a year ago and older. Another has only synchronized entries made while the app was open a few days ago, but not ones made today, despite having told it to synchronize several times since. Many pages are listed as being written in 2000, although the notebook was started in 2021. I have tried so many different approaches, but they don’t work. The App Support link sends you to a webpage with no support information at all. My notebooks are only marginally useful if the information is splattered across two devices. I never know if my data is complete until i cross reference both my phone and ipad. I have to be incredibly careful to only have my ipad app open when writing, lest new data end up on the phone only, where it is tiny and difficult to read.

I have been using Neo pens for several years (I’m on my third one) and I LOVE it. The brilliant thing about Neo pen was that you could automatically save your notebooks to Evernote (or OneDrive). Having my handwritten research, meeting and personal notes automatically show up, page by page, as notes in Evernote is what made the system so magical. (It had nothing to do with the app itself). If that’s not going to be possible any longer I will have to buy the competitor’s pen, paper, and app. But I don’t want to, and will happily change this review and rating if I’m missing something.

Maybe it’s just me but it’s given me trouble from the start. The whole notebook system is confusing and doesn’t act right. I’ve been unable to go back into a page and edit it. I’m certain they’ll respond to this review and ask me to contact support. I would happily talk to them if they would ever answer my emails. If they DO ever respond to me and help me with my issues, I would happily write a more positive review. My single good experience with these products was when it was given to me as a gift. Between the pen and notebooks this is a $200 failure. For less than $2 I could’ve, and should’ve, gotten some pens and a pad of sticky notes. Honestly would’ve been more useful.

The Neo Smart pen for me better than the Apple Pencil. I have both. My Neo Smartpen captures the nuance of my lines. Apple pencil feels clunky in comparison.

I like some of the changes in Neo Studio and because of them I am using my N2 smartpen more. There are some bugs though, a big one for me is I am seeing some confusion with regards to my notebooks; certain pages are drawing on top of eachother. Its created a lot of happy accidents though.

Anyhow, Im giving 4 stars because I really like the tech and I want it to continue to get better.

Things worked well for a bit, until there was an app update. After updating, I wasn’t able to use the app. Got stuck on a non-responsive page after signing in. A few days later I finally got through, only to find that all of my notebooks and pages were gone. F in the chat for all my weeks of journaling :’)

The company has discontinued support of the N2 pen with the app and the pen is completely non functional since it does not Bluetooth pair with the app. Thus it does not work as a digital pen to take notes which is its sole purpose. Terrible customer service as the company expects you to buy a new model of their pen. Would not recommend this product nor the company because of their fraudulent business practices to have you purchase products that don’t work and then they expect you to keep investing in their company.

App told me an update was required, so I updated. I was then greeted with a login screen and after logging in it simply says “ You are logged in to NeoLAB Cloud.

Back to NeoLAB Cloud”
…except, there is nothing clickable there so I’m just stuck on this screen. Absolutely unusable… and apparently without alternative?

I have used Neo Notes for years! I can not begin to tell you how many I have sold being in sales! I have moved my notebooks over to Neo Studio with no problem but have been trying to connect my pen for days and I’m over it! I own two pens and have reach out but have received No reply. Anyone reading this if you know how to connect the pen please write a quick review. Thank you, I gave the new app one star for potential.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got the Neo pen and had no issues with the app. However this morning my app updated and boom. No more access to my notes, I am unable to sign in and I don’t even have an option for an English language version of the app. The app tells me I have signed in but doesn’t get past that.
