Nice/ELAN Mobile Viewer Hack 8.8.9 + Redeem Codes

Since the update nothing works once you select a zone
I deleted the app and then reinstalled and now I have someone else’s controls cos I don’t have a pool! I didnt download a demo! I configured my own system and that’s what I got!
Whatever update just happened it screwed EVERYTHING UP!
I’m trying to use my iPhone, my iPad, and my touchscreen and the only thing that works is the elan remote. What good is the app if you can’t check your house while you’re away?
Guys- DO SOMETHING TO FIX THIS!

I do have to say that I enjoy just about all parts of this app. I can change the theme on my own (colors background etc) and controlling the things I had my guy setup work great.
There is no one “system” on the market that will do it all for you house, and it takes multiple working parts coming together to have it all work seamlessly. That bringing said it brings me to add this review, Apple recently updated their software again, yes and again, did it say they updated their software again. And with past updates the Elan system worked fine, just had to close out of the app and load up again. This time is different, and I look to Apple and what they changed in their settings or software to have different security settings or something, now elan has to be closed out each time I connect on iOS device.
I am sure it will be resolved.
Btw- controlling tv surround sound in house, some lights, shades, video cameras recorder, doorbell, thermostat but not alarm was told best to keep separate.

We paid an exorbitant amount (compared to other video doorbell cameras) to upgrade & incorporate the Elan doorbell into our home automation system only to discover that it’s absolutely terrible — almost worthless. App rarely works on watch or iPhone — and apparently it does not work if you have another app open or are talking on your phone — pretty ridiculous!!! Also you can rarely use the
Dismiss or Cancel buttons so it’s blaring in the background when you answer the door. Seems that the touchscreen is the only reliable way to accomplish such a simple task. And the only way to get playback (which is one of the main reasons to have a doorbell camera) is to have an Elan NVR — all of our other cameras work with Luma NVR so it never entered our minds that we wouldn’t have playback capabilities. It’s just been an all-around failure. Definitely would NOT recommend the super expensive Elan doorbell cameras to anyone!!! Very limited functionality!!!!!!!!

ELAN is a great system and is able to control some amazing smart homes, ranging from your standard living room system to multi-million whole house automation. That said each system is different and is only as good as the installation company that setup the system. They try to do as much vetting and training for each dealer but with so many factors that go into a system, some people’s home systems are better than others. I will also say that I have seen first hand ELAN’s reliability can be greatly affected by the quality of the home’s wifi network.

My dear old parents have this system after moving to a new house. It is one problem after another and they end up dumping money into their local tech guy to keep it running. Every time they call me to ask for help I just wish to god nobody had sold them this system because the reality is their use-case does not call for such a system. The entire Elan experience feels like it’s from 2009. I can never, ever recommend this setup for your general consumer.

If you want three words to describe this product: Finnicky, antiquated, unintuitive.

The Elan system used to be cutting edge. It’s not anymore. While the hardware controllers are quite capable, the app itself is antiquated and outdated.

Not only does the app look like something that was created 20-years ago, it acts that way too. Here are a few examples:

- Apple TV: trying to search for a movie? You need to type in the movie name by scrolling one letter at a time on the screen. The Apple TV app on the other hand allows you to push a button and speak. Unfortunately you can’t use both of your Apple TV is tucked away in a media closet. Why not at least display a keyboard on screen so one can quickly type the movie name?

- Lights: the lights overview looks terrible. It also functions poorly. For example, assuming your smart home has different lighting “scenes” (eg dinner time), the lighting overview page doesn’t show you if lights are on or off. You need to click each zone and then you can adjust.

I could go on...but it seems crazy that such an expensive system is not innovating.

The arrow buttons occasionally disappear for bit of time but app is super reliable across Apple devices. We stopped using the Elan remotes about 2 yrs ago and now only use iPad and/or our phones. Occasional are told too many app controls in play - kind of a strange message. Looking forward to seeing some more modernization as app and control has been same since v6. Very limited changes from release to release but love the control of entire house lights, AC, media, pool, sprinklers, cameras and security from touch of my phone

Elan and their app are such a great automation product. Like any control system out there, it is only as good as your installer, a lot of bad reviews here should be toward their bad installer not the app. Elan is so much better than Savant, Control4, or Crestron. I have used them all and Elan is by far the simplest to use, with an elegant and intuitive interface. Best control system on the market, just get a great installer to match it.

I don’t know where to start, this is the most awful security app ever. I think it’s actually getting worse with the updates! I can’t even load it on my phone anymore. It just won’t connect. My husband has an iPhone 11 and thankfully it isn’t allowing him to update past version 8.6 because the moment he does we won’t be able to access our system remotely at all. What a joke. Doesn’t help that our installer seems just as clueless about the system as the app developers. Don’t waste your money.

Elan has got to be the best control system out there, simple to use and at the same time can control anything! The app is great! Quick to respond and the interface looks nice and is uniform across different devices!
