(Note: Complex conjugate has moved to the advanced functions keypad.)

ADDED FUNCTION GRAPHING ON RECTANGULAR AND POLAR GRIDS
Now it is easy to graph functions using a forms-based interface in the build display---just tap the new "Graph" key to get started. You can specify a simple graph in seconds but there are a variety of options for more advanced applications.
● Five scales are available for labeling axes: regular linear (default), pi linear (axis is labeled in multiples of pi), regular logarithmic, and two special logarithmic decibel scales.
● You can mix scales to create linear-linear, linear-log, log-linear, log-log, linear-decibel, or log-decibel graphs.
● You can graph multiple functions and give each line a unique color.
● The history display saves your graph specification and a thumbnail image of the graph so that you can reopen the graph to full screen with just a tap. You can create similar graphs by copying old ones.
● Units are fully integrated---use units in your function expressions and on your axes limits.
● Unit consistency is checked and unit conversions between multiple functions are done automatically.
● Polar graphs use a true polar grid so that you can easily see the relationship between radius and angle.
● You can select the colors for the background and grid.
See the "Graphing" and "Graphing with Decibels" sections in the help.

ADDED METRIC PREFIXES OPTION FOR ENGINEERING MODE NUMBER FORMATTING
Select the "Try to Use Metric Prefix" option in the settings for the engineering mode exponent and Numerari will try to use a metric prefix instead of an exponent when there are simple units. For example, it will return an answer like 91 mA automatically instead of 91x10^-3 A.

ADDED FOUR ADVANCED FUNCTIONS: ABSOLUTE VALUE (OR MODULUS), COMPLEX ARGUMENT, REAL PART, AND IMAGINARY PART
The advanced functions keypad was updated to add these functions which are particularly useful for graphing characteristics of complex number expressions. Note that the polynomials and Bessel functions now share keys using a new POLY/BESSEL switch

ADDED TIME AND ANGLE UNITS TO THE ENGLISH UNITS KEYPAD
If you work with English units, you no longer have to switch back to metric units to get seconds, minutes, radians, etc. These units now appear in the same places on both the metric and English unit keypads. Note that the English energy and radiation units take the place of some of the metric prefixes when using English units. The new volume unit "olympic swimming pool" was also added in the process.

ADDED "EMBEDDED CONVERSION" FOR UNITS
Now you can use the conversion operator inside of an expression. For example, this is useful for converting a temperature in Celsius to an absolute temperature scale, such as kelvin, in an expression that must have absolute temperature. You can also use embedded conversion inside of a graph form to specify the units that you want on a function you are graphing. See the "Constants and Units" and "Graphing" sections in the help.

NEW KEYBOARD LAYOUT OPTION
Now you can choose between our original keyboard layout and a more traditional rectangular layout. No matter how you like to use your iPad, there is an efficient keyboard layout for you. Go to the "settings & tools" to choose.

ADDED 42 MORE ADVANCED FUNCTIONS
Our new advanced functions keypad adds 42 more functions for math, science, and engineering. These include the permutation and combination, factorial and double factorial, the gamma function, the log gamma function, the digamma function, the log with any base, the error functions, and the Riemann zeta function. For differential equation applications, the Bessel and Airy functions along with the Legendre, Laguerre, Chebyshev, and Hermite polynomials were included. An additional six trigonometric and six hyperbolic functions were added to give Numerari a complete set of 24 trigonometric and hyperbolic functions. The advanced function keypad is brought up by tapping the button that was formerly used to show the hyperbolic functions.

ADDED 36 MORE CONSTANTS
Our new constants keypad adds 36 more mathematical and physical constants (using the latest CODATA values). These include fundamental particle masses, magnetic moments, Compton wavelengths, molar volumes, Josephson constants, radiation constants, the fine structure constant, and many others. The original units and constants keypad has now been separated into a units keypad and the new constants keypad. This allowed us to add the additional constants while letting you see more of the history when either keypad is up.

Note: The precedences for the negative sign and postfix operators have been adjusted so that a negative number must be surrounded by parentheses to raise it to a power or apply a factorial. This matches the standard calculator and mathematical software convention instead of the spreadsheet convention.

ARCHIVE HISTORY IMAGES FOR REFERENCE, DOCUMENTS, AND SHARING
There is a new "Archive History" feature in the settings & tools that allows you to generate images of your calculation history with a variety of options. You can crop your history by specifying how many of your calculations should be included. This makes it easy to send a friend your last few calculations. In addition to the normal calculator color, the image can have a white background for easy inclusion in documents or a transparent background for mixing with other graphics. In the image, you can specify left or right alignment of your calculations, you can turn dividing lines on or off, and you can even turn off the display of unit conversion specifications to give your calculations a more standard appearance. Images can be saved with screen captures (press the "home" and "sleep/wake" buttons at the same time) or emailed.

UNIT ENHANCEMENTS
The prediction of the answer units for expressions involving English and angular units has been improved, and a problem with prefixes in certain situations has been resolved. The "gon" unit has been replaced with the more common "rev" (revolution) unit. (If you use the "gon", you can save it to a user-defined key before you upgrade).

NEW COLOR THEMES
Choose from seventeen different color themes: cool, warm, outdoors, orchid, sweet, chocolate, steel, graphite, robust, khaki, pastel, subway tile, sapphire, turquoise, ruby, emerald, and neutral. Spanning the range from vivid to muted colors, there is a theme to suit every user.

USES HIGH PRECISION VALUES FOR CALCULATED NUMBERS REGARDLESS OF FORMATTING
Even if a calculated number is rounded to show just a few digits in the history display, the full precision of the number is now preserved in the background in case you use that number in future calculations. You can also turn on a new option in the settings called "Color Calculated Numbers" to show calculated numbers in a different color wherever they are used to remind you that those numbers maintain their full precision.

Now you can drag your finger on the keyboard to rapidly move the build display cursor left, right, up, or down through a calculation.

The build display has new touch bars that let you jump instantly to the extreme left or right of a calculation.

A new option, "Confirm History Deletes", is available in the settings. If you turn this switch on, you will be asked for confirmation whenever you try to delete a history entry.

Cncjerry,
The best bar none!
It just took my five minutes to log into iTunes as my password was hosed and I would never go thru all that trouble if I didn't think this calculator deserved mention. This is the best bar none as the subject states. It is highly functional and the graphics are more than just pretty pictures. The button graphics really highlight the functions opposed to just being a pretty skin.

I've been collecting calculators for years and have an extensive collection of HP and old TI mag card readers. I have most calculators available for the ipad of any worth and had used '42' almost exclusively until now. The one feature that I love is the way you can move the edit line by dragging on the keypad. It makes editing on this app near perfect which has always been a problem on the ipad.

As far as math goes, I can't find a bug and doubt I will. I do wish it had scripting but can live without it for now.
MaxScx,
No Questions Asked... Numerari=Yes
Ya seriously this is the most useful calculator I personally have ever dreamed could be possible. Initially, after using it for a couple weeks, I felt like there could have been more thought in the manual. I figured out what I needed to do, PLUS so far there has been no issues of "how do I do this?" . The GUI is intuitive enough to rock and roll. As with all things in life, I hope they continue to make this better and better. Too many extremely cool things suffer from what I call "cow in heaven." Which is where the achievements are so great that there becomes a fear of change or improvement. I see there is still some crazy cool functionality which could be in this app in the future... Besides that, I have not needed another calculator for years now !!!!!
CallMeDblOSeven,
Not perfect; just the best :)
I like this calculator better than any that I have used. It has a full feature set, and the memory stack is very convenient. Editing equations by "gesturing" the cursor right to left is clever, innovative, and useful. My only major disappointment is that the units don't always behave as I expect them too. My only minor disappointment is the inability to multi-select and erase portion of the memory Stack, rather than all of it or one entry at a time.

Still, I find Numerari so useful and so much better than other scientific calculators that I gave it five stars.
Eriptron,
Instantly became my favorite scientific calculator!
Update:

Nobody’s beat it yell, IMHO.

Hands down, still, the best calculator I've ever used. I was always on the quest of finding that perfect, for me, calculator. I have a huge collection of apps but when I found Numerari...the quest was over. Never looked for any since then. The only thing I could ever think of that is missing is the ability to add text descriptions or text notes to lines in the history display.

Thank you for the fix update. I'm still surprised how naturally I took to this layout. :-) Very smartly done user interface! Ditto to everything the other reviewer said. The history line deletes needs an 'are you sure' challenge as "any" touch there just deletes that history line. Puff, gone. It also would be nice if you could save histories for future recall.
Neptue,
Best calculator for everyone…from physicists to cooks
Numerari has been my go to calculator app for years. So glad the developers made it work on the latest version of iOS and the new iPADs.

I recently upgraded my ancient iPAD and was bummed to discover that Numerari was not compatible. So I had to keep my old iPAD in service. With this update … Numerari works great on the latest from Apple.

Attn Apple App Store: your team should take a good look at Numerari and consider it for an “editor’s choice”. Maybe a spotlight on Numerari for the new school year (high school and college) would increase its sales numbers. It’s a diamond in your App mountain and users who get it will love it.

A Happy PhD Engineer …🤠
PresentMe,
Spectacular
The calculator is so powerful, yet relatively easy to use, at least after you read the instructions. It is also a bit humbling, at least to me, since I did not know even the existence of all of the constants available to use.
Essjrs,
Outstanding
Absolutely the best engineering calc I have ever used. Superior to others I have.
Alsilvv,
Th best
I've been using several calculator apps but i can tell this is the best!!
kck17,
Sure beats a slide rule
Could have completed my EE degree in college in 3 years instead of 4.
felicsd,
An advanced scientific calculator
I have used this app for several days already and it actually delivers as described. Its interface is simple, intuitive, and easy to navigate. The help key brings a retractable window with a brief tutorial that allows practicing the examples and quickly becoming familiar with the calculator. The operation with units and the touch reuse and editing capabilities are distinctive features only seen in far more expensive computer applications. It is hard to believe that all this functionality can be achieved in an iPad.
