Initial impression is that this app is ChatGPT in disguise albeit improperly trained. The AI chat made false representations about app functions and existing integrations. This sucked me into buying a week subscription to see if the chat AI representations were true. Unfortunately they were not.
I was told the app integrated with my favorite food tracking app and was provided instructions on how to link my nutrition.ai account to my food tracking app. Upon further investigation, after becoming a paid user, I discovered that none of the described functionalities exist in the app. If it wasn’t an AI chat bot, I would scream “false advertising” and “false representation”. Still, the app developer is responsible for false claims made by its AI employee. :-)
I asked the AI how diet recommendations are made and it described how the recommendations are customized based on various data users provide. ie: one’s age, gender, current weight, etc. Since the current app doesn’t appear to have any kind of user interface to enter such information, I asked in chat if the AI retained user details provided. The AI responded in the affirmative. So then I decided to test the AI.
Since I had provided these details earlier in the chat conversation and the AI stated that this information was retained, I decided to ask the AI to tell me my age. It said it needed my explicit permission so I said, “You have my explicit permission” and the AI thanked me. So I asked again, what is my age and the AI responded “Your age is [age here]. I replied [age here] is not a correct response.
Its possible the information I provided is retained and used in the recommendations but the AI wasn’t able to answer the most basic questions so we have no way of knowing whether the AI is considering user details properly in making recommendations. Since the AI was providing me with incorrect information, I quickly felt the entire process was fraught with misinformation if not outright lies.
Overall Initial impression is that this app is not ready for prime time, should not be selling subscriptions and left this customer highly disappointed.
