Haven’t ridden public transit in a while? Miss the soothing screech noises of the subway tracks? Well now you can “STAND CLEAR OF THE CLOSING DOORS PLEASE” from the comfort of your own home! The NYC Subway Sounds app is the perfect remedy for your cabin fever. Currently there are 37 unique sounds with more coming soon (it’s just delayed)
And the train doesn’t stop there:
- There’s a “Train Ambience” sound you can play on a loop. Perfect if you want to feel like you’re falling asleep on the express line again
- iMessage stickers so you can rant about the 4/5 being delayed in your group chat

Remember the days before OMNY? The days you were in a hurry, the train's doors were closing and you could've made it, but your Metrocard wouldn't swipe so you missed the train? Well I added a turnstile metro card swipe sound so you can remember the feeling of seeing the train doors close right in front of your face

Based on a ton of feedback, there’s a new “Train Ambience” sound that’s full of the rumbles of a train in motion. As an added bonus, tapping the repeat icon will loop this sound indefinitely

Ideal for a youthful subway car
I grew up on the tracks. It's all I've ever known. Moving to the big city as a lil' subway car is all I've ever wanted. I turned on my headlights and chugged my way into the big Apple only to find all these incredible cars with such magnanimous announcer men. I knew I needed one but they're hard to find. This app helps me feel like I belong.

Just what I needed
As someone who moved away from the city two years ago, it was hard trying to find time to come back. Then Covid happened, and revisiting the city again became even less likely. You never know how comforting/nostalgic some of these sounds are until you really haven’t heard them for almost a year!

NYC Subway Sounds are the Best
If you are a fan of the smelly, musty, dirty subway and the sounds that come with it - this is the App for you. All of the sounds are decent to high quality and they’re just fun to play with. They’ll give you a taste of New York even when you’re not there.

This app is great, especially in a time where most of us are stuck in the house. I think the app needs more sounds and Variations, Maybe a Sound for the train Leaving the station and more station announcements.

This app is good if you want a reminder of NY or to troll people both work but I hope in the future there is more sounds full announcements and more maybe the new time sq announcement on the 2 and yea but yea otherwise this is a good app the selection is just very poor

Gosh, a couple of months in, and these bits of our aural landscape land as if from another world! Once we’re free to move about the city again I may ride for 24 hours straight, just to make up for lost time...

Dam good app!
It was perfect for me as far as accurate sound effects. I downloaded it as a joke because my work truck brakes squeek alot and sound just like the subway. So we thought it would be funny for the other sounds effects aswell!

I love the subway but don’t live in NYC. This really wonderful app lets me access the comforting cacophony of being on the train. The addition of the ambience button really makes some of the clearer announcements work great!!
