Howdydooit,
Great selection, instant connections
I had a previous 5 * review but changed it to 1* when the app went off the reservation after the iOS 12 update, when it refused to connect to servers. I can’t edit my old review to get it back up to 5* - so I’m trying to make up for that by sending the “all clear.”

The gist of my other review is that the app has a few flaws, and my wish list would be to add things like buffering, but the value added is 100x the detractions.

Aside from the attributes in my title, there are no ad servers to slow it down, interrupt play, etc. When I want OTR and I want it NOW(!) I always default to this app. There is ALWAYS a genre or an episode available instantly. Unlike a popular live radio app I use, I am literally listening in less than half the time and it’s easy to interact with in the car because basically the only thing there is to click on are the numerous presets. Apologies to the developer for my downgrading the app in my old post, and many thanks for fixing this!
Westerngull,
Wonderful relaxing
Really enjoy being able to just shut my eyes and listen to a radio play from yesteryear. Takes some imagination. Only one time did I sign on and the menu of station offerings not match what was being broadcast. Every other time, it was perfect. The menu is a great asset in finding exactly what you want to listen to (Boston Blackie, Sherlock Holmes, or big band music, etc--and I'm talking about a lot of stations). If I could only have one app, this would be it.
I must have written the above a long time ago. Lately of the very many “stations”, about 33, only 3 would connect. I was going to give a low rating, but now, today, June 24, 2021, every station is working. I sure enjoy listening to rebroadcasts of WW2 broadcasts, Boston Blackie, Dragnet, and miss them a lot when the stations fail to connect. I repeat, if I could only have one app, this would be it.
cw2gtc,
Thank You, Ed! Quick update vers. 1.3.6
This is THE go-to app you will want for every day listening, trust me.
When Apple did an upgrade last week, all of a sudden the app was unable to connect to streaming audio. Within just a few days, Ed Zakeski had an update fixed and back online for his MANY appreciative app users.
Its said that you don’t realize how much you appreciate something until you don’t have it anymore. As a disabled guy that doesn’t get out very often, I love listening to lots of different OTR broadcasts several hours daily. Classic movies are my other treat. After several years of doing this, I can tell you this is THE premiere
app you’ll want. It gives you the most variety by presenting many online streams in a simple format similar to a radio or TV guide. The programs are constantly changing, giving great variety without any hassle. Just tap the stream you want. There you go!
chuckyshit,
I am so grateful to hear John Meston, Bill Conrad, Parley Baer etc.
In the course of listening to this channel, it’s been my great fortune to hear uncounted whole episodes, but interviews amongst the crew of tremendous CBS Radio actors, such as William Conrad, Parley Baer, the greatest/ Howard McNear, Dehner, Perrin and above all the sounds effects experts who were
as diligent as any sound men in radio!

Bill Conrad was never as two dimensional as he himself might have self-portrayed, he was a tremendously subtle, varied multifaceted voice of
CBS dramatic radio!
2huskeysmom!,
iOS 12 specter!
Now sadder than ever the whole app won’t open! Just empty screen except for that whirly thing.

Sad… can’t get more than a couple stations to work at any given time. Sigh… Don’t know what’s going on here lately and whether it does or doesn’t have to do with the 12+ iOS upgrade. The programs stop streaming for no known apparent reason; some selected favorites don’t show up in the right section; sometimes the App just doesn’t load for minutes on end. Also there’s begun annoying repetition of programs (esp within my fav sites). I’m not giving up. I do like this App and hope/look forward to seeing it back up and working at the same great level it was a year ago when I first found and began enjoying it! Will certainly up the stars then! UPDATED REVIEW: Yay! Nothing’s ever perfect but great job, Guys, bringing this App back to working again with (most) issues resolved.
wyattphx,
Still the Best
My go-to for most all OTR listening. I appreciate the developer fixing the recent bug given no updates had been made for a couple of years. I don't imagine this is a major priority but I’d appreciate a bit more ongoing maintenance; still a stuck item or two to be fixed but otherwise a good little summary of everything available a ease of accessing many streams from one simple listening platform.
Catman286,
Excellent Source for OTR
Hits all the needs to find out what's playing. Its the TV guide for OTR and well worth five stars. And now a suggestion to make it even better would be the option for the timer to be able to turn off power to the iPad to save the battery as well as turning off the audio. I would like to see a favorite streaming channel and that is otr1710 Antioch be added to the list. That would make it six stars......
Phoenix DPM,
Love, love
I have been listening to this ap for about 3 yrs now.. it is awesome. I especially love that I can set a timer for it to turn off....AWESOME!!!! I listen to it every night to fall asleep! Please keep up the wonderful job! I have listened to several other apps, but they cannot compare in the least bit. I like the OTR on my satellite radio, which I listen to in my car, but this beats it by far....thank you!!
Buffalo Bob and Clarabell,
Finally an OTR app that just simply WORKS!
Most other OTR apps are not well designed or so buggy you finally give up and delete it. This one will pleasantly surprise you. It’s been trouble free from the beginning. You can immediately start listening to your favorite programs with it’s user friendly interface.
Quietchat,
Easy to use with a good selection of material.
I've tried a number of other OTR apps and this one is the best. Although I would like the ability to add new stations, I never find myself without something listenable in the selections provided by the app.

The simple interface makes the app a joy to use. If you like old time radio, this one is for you.
