Description

No burn-In! This clock is perfectly suited for the OLED display in iPhone X, because the clock won't stand still on the screen but moves around constantly using any available pixel of the screen over time. Also it smoothly changes color over the complete color spectrum, so that every sub pixel (red, green, blue) will be used evenly. This prevents the so called "burn-in effect" any OLED display shows, if certain pixels are switched on for a very long time. The clock not just works on iPhone X but on all iOS devices like iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad (iOS 9.3 and above). But there's more:

- NEW: digital and analog representation of the clock. You choose!
- choose between a huge number of nice looking fonts to display the actual time
- adjust clocks size just by using the pinch gesture on main screen
- use automatic color changes "color cycling" (recommended on iPhone x, can be switched off in settings)
- adjust the clocks brightness by using scroll up and down gesture on the main screen
- tap on the main screen to show tab bar at the bottom of the screen, here you will be able to switch between analog and digital view, call settings, help and about page
- on settings page you can change font, color and animation speed as well as switch on/off seconds, blinking separators, 24h display, autosize and color cycling
- all adjustments are permanent! OLED clock remembers them on the next time you use it!
- use OLED clock in portrait or landscape mode. On digital mode, OLED clock remembers your preferred font size depending on device orientation
- help page provides necessary information about usage
- fully localized in english, german, hebrew, french and japanese (new!)

Version history

2.1.3
2021-11-03
- In response to multiple customer requests, we have accelerated the color cycling. A full cycle now only takes 30 minutes instead of 60 minutes
- The rate of change in color cycling is no longer linear, but follows a sine curve over the color value (hue). As a result, the colors in the color cycling now appear more evenly distributed over time
2.1.2
2021-01-13
The proximity sensor can now be deactivated / activated in the settings, the standard setting is "activated"
2.1.0
2021-01-01
New feature: The proximity sensor is now supported on iPhones! This means that the screen is switched off for the digital and analog display if you cover the iPhone in the upper area. OLED Clock switched itself off automatically when you put the iPhone in a pocket or place it with the display facing down on a surface and turn it back on again. That saves battery power!
2.0.1
2020-03-03
Version 2.0.1 - Build 873
- Font size slightly enlarged in the analog representation
- Bug in english localization fixed
- Bug fixed: In the settings view, the sample font is now correctly displayed immediately after returning from the font selector
2.0.0
2019-07-23
New feature: There is now an alternative analog view of the clock. Simply switch to "Analog" in the tap bar. Parameters such as animation speed, color and seconds hand display are taken from the normal settings. The brightness can be controlled via the touch gesture "up / down". The size of the analog clock can be changed with the pinch gesture, (switch off "automatic size" in the settings). When automatic size is enabled, size is fixed to 80 percent of the shorter screen side (depending on the orientation of the device).
1.22
2018-10-01
Ready for iOS 12. Minor UI changes. Switch to Swift 4.2 including new random functions for animating the clock on the screen.
1.21
2018-07-27
Fixed a bug concerning 12h format. 12h format should now be displayed correctly.
1.20
2018-07-09
New feature: "Autosize". If this option is activated in the settings (default is "on"), OLED Clock will always set the width of the displayed clock to 80% of screen width. The manual size adjustment by pinch gesture is disabled in this case. Why 80% and not 100%? At 100%, the clock would only move vertically, not horizontally any more. As a result, some OLED pixels would be used much more often than others, and therefore burn in faster.
Also new:
- More fonts! Now more than 200 fonts are available for you to choose from
- The tabbar now appears on a single tab (no longer at double tab)
- A triple tab resets the color to beginning (red) if the color animation is activated
- Improved layout in font picker
1.10
2018-06-07
Improved version out now! Brand new font picker! Choose of up to 30 cool fonts! (depending on iOS version).
1.01
2018-05-23
New on iPhone X: The "Home Bar" should now disappear after a few seconds, if you're in the clock's tab. It will reappear, if you touch the screen or change to another tab.

The emusifyer,
Good clock, just needs one thing
Good clock, like that I can choose the font and the color. Choosing the font makes it great because a person can choose which one suits their tastes and is easier to read at night without glasses or contacts. The one thing that needs fixed is the screen saver will move the numbers to some degree off the screen - might just be the notch though.

The app does a nice job as a simple clock. It doesn’t have an alarm but that’s fine because iOS has one built in which is more reliable than third party alarms anyway.

Also, it might be handy for the user to be able to choose the colors it cycles through. Not all colors are good for sleeping.

BTW. Add a couple enhancements and I’d be happy to purchase for a fair onetime price.
pstrhenry,
Perfect for oled screen
I have used another clock app for a couple of years. But just upgraded to iPhone 12 and read what Apple said about OLED burn in. So this is an awesome solution. With my previous app, as with this one, you have to update the iOS at a different time if you want to be able to wake up and glance at the clock at any hour of the night. Don’t worry, Apple will remind you every day that it wants to update that night. It would be nice if the app also displayed the date. My previous app did it in small letters under the time. Maybe on an update if there is one. Anyway, great job!
jleigh3,
Love this clock..but
I love this clock. Only thing is the alarm tone I downloaded from the iTunes store doesn’t ring. The alarm that rings is not my choice. I hope this will be corrected soon.
Qwertyonetwothreefour,
Good, but…
I was excited about the color cycling, but it seems it only cycles from red to Green - then stays on green.
Maybe it’s my phone? (iPhone 8 plus)
DRKbadger,
So far so good
Why isn’t this on the most downloaded section? Great app!
MartialTraveller,
Nice, but buggy?
Is there some way to get the controls back once they go away? I'd expect tapping the clock to make them come back, but they don't.
Tim R&S,
iCloud
iCloud doesn’t back up when this is on. I just discovered my phone hasn’t backed up for 2 weeks.
