Description

‡‡ Spaced Repetition

Omen will notify you at the optimal study times. Simply add your cards and obey Omen's commands, then clutch your skull in agony as your brain swells with knowledge.

‡‡ Ad Hoc Cards

If you stumble upon a useful piece of information, painlessly flashcardify it without undertaking the rituals of categorization. Decks are optional, so add cards ad hoc—from either Omen, the home screen, or from another app —to a continuous stream of knowledge.

‡‡ Smart Card Creation

Vocabulary Definitions — If the front of your card is found in the dictionary, a cute little dictionary button will appear in the toolbar. Tapping this will reveal a list of definitions. Selecting a definition from the list will set the selected definition as the card’s back and add the card to the Vocabulary deck.

Table Imports — When browsing a website with a table, tapping the Add to Omen action extension lets you import the contents of the table as a deck, selecting one column for the front of each card and another for the back.

Shortcuts — Create cards with your voice via HomePod, Apple Watch, etc. Or create new cards from custom shortcuts in the Shortcuts app.

‡‡ Interleaved Practice

Studying cards from different decks in the same session makes for more effective memorization. Simply tap “Study” and all due cards are interleaved and studied on the gorgeously animated, haptic feedback-enhanced study screen.

‡‡ iCloud Backup/Sync

Synchronize and backup your cards seamlessly in the background between your different iOS devices.

‡‡ Pulchritude

Relish the gorgeous, tenebrous dark mode. Reel in ecstasy when studying on the deeply satisfying study screen. Pledge your eternal soul to the cool icons!

A new logo! (Though this hasn't yet been updated everywhere in the app)

You can now add syntax-highlighted CODE BLOCKS to cards.

Now that cards are getting a bit more complicated, I’ve also revamped the edit card interface. This should pave the way for future card features. A few people have mentioned LaTeX support, so hopefully I’ll be able to add that soon.

I’ve also added source metadata. When you create a card from safari with the share sheet, the webpage will be stored on the card. It can be useful to know where your cards came from.

Vague and Anonymous Name,
Great! Until Montery 12.1
I love(d) using this app for my flashcards, until the MacOS Monterey 12.1 update. Now, each time I open the app, it crashes.

Questions
This is a very pretty and what looks to be a very functional app. I was wondering if there could be a dedicated settings menu with notification tweaks? I assume your algorithm is good but could be fun to have multiple settings of more crunch time oriented study weeks and more relaxed study weeks? Perhaps not? Also as an iPad user I would love if I could draw on the app or hand write. Just an idea, I don’t know how difficult it would be to implement but could be cool! Thank you for developing the app!

Also could you add folders? To organize my decks? After this coming semester I would like to catalog my old decks into a S’19 folder and that addition would greatly improve the look/feel and usability of the app!
Aneericens,
all is great amazing interactions
but i wish i can return to the next line when i create a card
and i want to decide which deck to study cause sometimes i just want to store the cards and study them later. Not all cards need to learn.
dirv89,
Great and Simple!
Saw the promo on reddit, so I gave it a shot. Everything is simple, clean, and very well done. Like other comments I’ve seen, I’m definitely waiting on new themes!!

Will there be an upscale iPad version as well?
CarbonDoxide,
Fantastic app!
What a beautiful and fantastic FlashCard app! Unfortunately it’s got a ton of bugs, and there is no way to contact the developer.

If the bugs are fixed, I will edit this review. I’d love to keep using it, but it’s slowly become unusable.
Irakl_i,
Amazing!
The UI/UX of this app is just perfect, can’t wait to see where it goes next. Keep it up, Kit!
