Good app with some issues
Overall I like the app. It does its job - connecting your neighbors in a central place. There are a few issues I’ve run into. It constantly makes me login which is annoying. The bot that urges you to say hi to a newly joined neighbor, there is no way to to that. It just shows the neighbor’s name but it’s not linked to their profile and I can’t figure out a way to say hi. Also when I get a new app notification and click on it, it takes me to the app but is constantly loading. I have to close reopen the app. Also wish there was a way to add your own group. I’m on an iPhone 12 pro max using IOS 15.3.1

The version before the Shires disaster was best
This is actually a horrible app now. What on earth would possess you to add a "neighborhood" app based on distance?? Aside from the fact that literally nobody wanted this, the people who are 5 miles from me are not necessarily 5 miles from other people in the group, so you see people's responding to ghost conversations because those other people aren't close enough to me.
With the NEWest update, the app is impossible to use and so confusing. I have no chats for my building now, and only the option to "create a group" which means SCROLLING THROUGH EVERY PERSON WITHIN 5 MILES OF ME AND MANUALLY SELECTING EVERY SINGLE RESIDENT OF MY BUILDING.
I introduced this app to my building to foster a community and all its done is confuse and alienate people and embarrass me at this point. I will definitely be finding a new app because this developer has proved that they have no idea what they're doing or who their audience is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!

Love it, every neighbor should have it in their building
I received an invite in my mailbox to join the OneRoof group in our building, because a neighbor had the great idea of starting a group chat. I think it’s genius, especially if you’re living in a crowded large building. Now I get to know who I live around, and already have so much in common with most! I’m meeting with really cool people here and we are planning a time to get drinks together on our rooftop. I see people selling things and talking about local spots. It’s really an awesome app, especially in the times we’re living. Even if you’re not the social type, I still think it’s helpful to know what’s going on around you.

Exactly what I needed!
This app is exactly what I needed to be able to connect with my neighbors, living in a NYC building. It allows me to find pet sitters for my fur baby, sell/buy things, exchange info - all with people in my building. It’s well designed so that separate chats exist depending on the occasion/need. Think of this app as your gateway to meet, communicate, and connect with neighbors without having to awkwardly be the first to speak up while in the elevator together. So far, I’ve had great success in finding people with similar interests and have bought/sold items in my apt without stepping a foot outside of the building. Highly recommend!!!

Localized info and Community Building Events
I’ve used Nextdoor in the past to get local info. But it can be annoying if you’re living in an urban area, as you get posts from people with all sorts of irrelevant complaints and information.
This is like a more relevant form of community app, since it’s just your building. I also love how my neighbors were able to easily organize some great get togethers and events. Had a yoga session on our roof and a great cocktail hour. All around nice simple design, I think there’s functionality for the building managers to send messages and communicate with tenants as well.

OneRoof connects ppl
I really am so happy OneRoof was thought up. I met a couple neighbors organically that later weren’t the right fit for me but when I met folks thru OneRoof based on common interests in multiple areas like reading, exploring outside the building, cooking and most importantly support. One time I needed spices I didn’t have im my kitchen got a recipe on a cold day, I posted on OneRoof and neighbors came to the rescue. It was awesome! Another time we shared plant clippings. So cool! Easy to use and always improving. Totally recommend in this era of separating humanity OneRoof is the new normal.

Total lifesaver!
OneRoof has been an absolute lifesaver for our building. Our management company uses ActiveBuilding and moderates, monitors, and filters every resident’s post. That means that the communications that management approves don’t even end up posting for a few days. OneRoof lets everyone in our building communicate in real time, which is great, not only for critical building issues, but also for tea :) Great for meeting neighbors, making friends, coordinating activities, and buying and selling things too!

I have one request for the devs: when someone posts to a new group for the first time, there is no date timestamp. Kind of odd, because it seems like it only appears after enough messages have been sent to fully cover the messages element in the UI.

Changed my NYC experience!
I came to NYC not knowing a single soul and for a year I pretty much stayed to myself (COVID didn’t help 😩). Thankfully OneRoof came into my life and changed everything. I started meeting neighbors for weekly drinks, was able to solve some building issues with a little teamwork, and found my dog some new friends! Love this app so much! Wherever I move next I would beg them to adopt this app as well because I don’t know what I would’ve done without it.

Must have life hack
I honestly don’t know how I’d live in my building without OneRoof! It’s helped me find other dogs in the building for my puppy to play with, make sure I’m not wasting things by being able to give things away instead of throwing them out, and discuss local problems with people that are also experiencing them.
