Can’t download books
Just keeps getting worse. Now it just crashes every time I open it. Tried deleting and re-installing but always immediate crash. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? Fire every one of your engineers I agree with others that this app has a lot of issues, but the most glaring problem to me is that, even though I pay a subscription fee to access Packt Publishing materials, I cannot download books to reference them locally without a wireless connection. If you click on the download button for a book you are reading, the status indicator will just spin forever and never actually finish downloading. There is no error indication given. If I cannot download the materials for offline use, this is useless to me and I will not continue paying for access. Also troubling is that others are reporting this same behavior in their reviews and yet it still persists as a problem. To the developer: Can you fix this, and if so WHEN?

App does not work on mobile devices
I have deleted and reinstalled this application to see if that would fix. Nope. When I try and open the app, the splash screen flickers on then immediately closes. This happens on both the iPhone and iPad. It first started on my iPad, and I emailed the devs working on it, in which case they stated their app does not work on the iPad, rather only on smaller screens like the iPhone. I responded to the email that it seems odd then they would have an app available for the iPad ready for download knowing it didn’t work for it. I wonder if there will be an update to fix this issue. I would email the developers to ask, just not sure they would reply.
Additional information: it’s been over a year since your last update to this app, can you please push an update to make the app stable?

Doesn’t work on iPhone 13
So I have a Packt sub and love what I learn via the website, but the mobile app simply doesn’t load. I read the previous comments and hoped that maybe they were old comments, downloaded the app, attempted to open but it immediately closed. I attempted a couple more tries and a few other steps before I determined it was a complete waste of time. My job is not QA for Packt and I shouldn’t have to evaluate their software to make it work. I’m not getting paid and my time is valuable.
Would love to see this fixed but seems its not a priority.

App Crashes on IOS 15
Not a great app before it stopped working. The app wouldn’t download a book to store locally. Highlight a section and attaching a note wouldn’t work as well. Most annoying is that when going back into the reader it won’t bring you back to where you left off, and with incredibly long sections it can be hard to recall where you were exactly. Reader not on par with Apple’s Books or Amazon’s Kindles reader. Overall a very disappointing user experience.

Latest version doesn’t run on iPad 10.2
Used to at least work. I have canceled my subscription because the site is down a lot and clunky. And this app starts to open, then disappears on the iPad 10.2 pro. I know it’s older, but when I bought it the app worked fine. Then they updated it and it broke. I have moved to a more expensive subscription -> but it just @#$@# works. —> from a different company. I recommend the same.

No crashes ... works great
I use the app on iPad Air (1st Gen) iOS 12.5.5 and on iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd Gen). In both scenario the app launches and I’m able to use the book and video. Currently my got is the iPad Air for this app as its small enough for me to use in conjunction with my laptop

Portrait mode broken
After last update it is not possible to use app in portrait mode because menu automatically opens in portrait mode and covers 80% of the screen. Landscape is fine.

Crashes 100% of the time.
Stick with a browser, for the time being. App still crashes, as others have mentioned. After months, the problem still persists, and, given the length of time that has passed since the last major update, it’s clear this team is under-staffed and under-resourced to maintain an app. Recommend pulling the app until stability issues are fixed, or removing it entirely.

Worked but now dead
When this app worked, which it did for a while, it was absolutely exactly what i was looking for. I enjoyed it thoroughly. However, that was too good to be true, because now like everyone else it will not even open. I think i will have to cancel my subscription because the other avenues are not working for me as an autistic individual.

Do not download (privacy concerns)
I used the app for two days and I did not like it. I contacted the customer support and requested to delete my account and related information. I was told that they cannot do that and on top asked for me to provide my postal address (which was never asked for while creating the account). The app developers privacy policy is really shady and based on my experience I would say please do not open you account with Packt.
