Description

Did it ever happen to you, after taking a break from one of your miniature/army painting projects that you couldn’t get a hold of the right painting order? What kind of mixtures did you create to paint that cool metal blade? What kind of inks did you use and in which order? Was it the „late summer green 123“ or „autumngras 345“ flock for the bases?

With PaintMyMinis you can keep track of all these questions and keep it for future projects and expansions. It provides your tabletop army/miniature painting with consistency throughout the whole painting process. Never lose sight again of your painting order, the thereby used colors and bookmark your painting status at every mini in progress.

Raftoniii,
Powerful sleek and very useful!
This is an absolute must-have for any miniature painter! You simply download the line of paint colors you use and start logging your techniques on various surfaces, so it then keeps track step-by-step of the exact mixture you used colors you used and technique you used for that part of the model;
Example your paining a for coat and leather pants on a model you would add both of those as part of the project and then list the different materials along with how you did it in the technique it's basically a organizational app! Waiting on support for citadel tints and Ahriman and thousand suns blue to be added to new citadel range that is available for Down load! Other than that very useful! I've given to a few friends as gifts and we all love this app!
AcIdC0R3,
You gotta get this app!
I’m not really used to giving reviews so here goes. I think the app is great. Everything from the paints you have access to and the way you can plan out your mini’s paint scheme and select the paint you would need is fantastic.

Also the way you can select what’s in your stock and what’s available out there to creating a shopping list for what paints you might need is awesome. If a paint isn’t in your database to request it from PaintBay which is the online database that all the paints are derived from before you download them to your database.

All in all this is one of the best apps I have on my phone today. You gotta get this app!
nephsbirth,
Great organization tool
Didn’t think I would like this app as much as I do but it’s fantastic! It forces you to take the time and plan out your project for each part of your painting.

Dev suggestion: Instead of using the ‘bookmark’ feature of a painting step to track progress, maybe make a small radio button or a slide step to count that step as done. I want to bookmark a paint step to return to it, not necessarily to track progress.
Irongills,
Great app for tracking paint steps, would love a place to share pmmf files
I really enjoy this app. It has most major miniature paint brands you can think of and will help you sketch out and track your paint recipes. Being able to attach images of your projects and track the minis in that project is a neat touch.

One thing I’ve been trying to find, but haven’t, is a place to share or download other people’s recipe files. It’s advertised as a function of the app, but I can’t really find anyone online, or a place, that has these files to share or download. It would be great to see a function like that or a community for sharing files.
Darramouss,
Awesome app, needs a little more...
This app is awesome for keeping track of large paint jobs. The way you can create materials and then assign them to minis is also fantastic. This app is so close to 5 stars, but it needs a little more, namely:

- The order of the minis change every time you open the app and there’s no sorting methods. The ability to alpha sort is important for larger jobs.

- The ability to group minis in to folders would really clean up the miniatures section. Considering that many games have clans/tribes/races/etc the ability to place minis in folders would be of great benefit.

- I would love to be able to collapse each category in the materials page. That way instead of scrolling through to find what you want you could look for the category you want, tap on it (expanding it), and then look for the material you want.
Brak19,
Only one recommendation
This app is fantastic. It really keeps everything you need organized, but I have one recommendation to make. Please add a feature so that you can organize the order of the miniatures in each project. I would like to categorize each type of mini, and right now I cannot find a way to do that. Besides that, 100% fantastic.
Pethrai,
An invaluable tool
It’s an amazing app. Keeps me consistent not only in how I paint but also lets me check exactly how I achieved an effect for use with future projects. Quite invaluable for reminding me what’s been done already when I came back to an army after a few months working on something else. My only complaint would be that the downloadable paint ranges aren’t updated frequently enough to account for changes in the product line.
curiousrobot,
Remarkably useful!
I've never been able to be meticulous about documenting my painting, but this app has really changed that for me. I use it for paint recipes and making solid notes on what I do to different minis so I can go back and duplicate the process later. I also love the shopping list. Very handy!
Conclavidor,
Fantastic & flexible!
This is a must-have for even occasional hobby painters. Forgot how what colors you mixed to get your leather like that? What wash did you use on the face? Never again! Individual miniatures can be saved into group projects, so you can organize by game, commission, warband, or however you please.
f1rxf1y,
iPad version lacking
Pretty good app. Could be bumped up to a 4 with an iPad version. I use my iPad as a reference tool when painting, not my phone. If you're willing to use your phone, or willing to deal with zoom, this app will suit your needs nicely. I personally find the UI a little clunky. Some overall improvements will make this app shine!
