Needs work
Love the amount of questions available and the pearls available after answering questions, however I think it could benefit from some changes, mostly, the ability to type how many questions you’d like to answer. A scroll bar on a set of 9k+ questions make it incredibly difficult to pick a set of questions for anything less than 100, or to pick an even number of questions instead of 53 or 77. Looking forward to more updates that may help the app be more user friendly.
Panama "QT",
Awesome!
This app is amazing. Prior to using this app I failed the PANCE twice and a friend told me they passed using this so told me what did I have to lose? Ended up I had everything to gain. Let me tell you why I credit this app for passing. TUTOR MODE - Having the clue and the breakdown for how I should be thinking helped me hone that so much better. There were times I had the right answer for the wrong reason and I learned so much. 2. The explanations not only explained but also gave some strategies or useful mnemonics or exam tips. 3. The photos help things to stick. There were things like thickened basement membrane I would memorize but when I saw it or the breakdown it helped it stick better. 4. The charts that compare and contrast similar disease that would often trip me up until I started using the app. And even the pearls because I felt Dwayne went further into explanation of things that trying to fit on the page of a book didn’t allow him to so it gave even stuff in PPP a fresh new perspective. Honestly I would have never passed the third time around with out this app. And with over 10,000 questions how could u lose? I won BIG TIME!
YourFuturePA,
PPP App Levels Up Your Knowledge
I recently got the app and it is a game changer for studying. I did have some technical issues the first two days of using the app, which were resolved immediately thanks to their developer team.
Pros:
-High quality questions/content
-Questions appear on top of answers, so you can slide the invisible bar down to cover answers and fully read questions and formulate your own answer, before looking at the choices = promotes good test taking strategies
-Hint option shows you the key features to look out for/know
-Pearl option takes you directly to the PPP book and so you can brush up on your textbook knowledge within the app
-Ribbon option challenges you one step further in your understanding of that question/topic
-Learn a lot and helps formulate the thought process needed to answer test questions and think clinically

Cons: (minor reasons I had to take away 1 star)
-Cannot save different question sets; so once you start the set, must finish
-No option to see used/unused/wrong questions
-Cannot go back to previous questions
-Questions do take 10-15 secs to load after creating a set, so be patient

Overall, my friends and I agree the content matters most and these questions challenge you well. We feel it helps us in mastery of the subject matter and prep for future exams.
Thank you for this app!
Smush's Mimi,
Yay I finally have PPP on my phone!!!
As I live in NYC and trying to study on the train during rush hour can be impossible unless you have a handy app like this one on your phone:)

Many more questions than other prominent PANCE apps. I had a small technical problem since I am not so technically savvy and could not see the question explanation. However a quick email to Dwayne and his developer, Eli, and I received the tutorial I needed to navigate the app! Such great customer support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would highly recommend this app. Not just for the PANCE but for all of those lovely end of rotation exams! Thank you Dwayne and Eli!
MH PA-S,
Deactivated my account?
I’ve had my acct for less than 24 hrs and they deactivated it, saying I needed to contact admin, but didn’t give me away to do that..... I wanted to switch to my iPad instead of my iPhone, because I suffer from double vision (I’m still learning my limits with it and I have chromatic aberration from my thick prism lens), and I need the screen to be bigger. How do I contact admin to reactivate my acct OR get a refund? I’m very upset about this.

Update: corrected after emailing through their website.

FYI: you must “officially” log out from one device before logging in from another.
Austin_Wild,
Not easy to use
I had high hopes for this app as I have enjoyed using the PPP V2 book but this app is terrible. If dark mode is on I get white text on white background and can’t read the questions. Even when it’s working properly it’s hard to read the explanations after the questions because I have to scroll one line of text at a time. I used contact information from their website and requested a refund but never heard back. I was hoping to get a refund and use the money to buy the V3 PPP book instead. With the app being so new and so expensive, there should have been a trial period. Now I’m out $70 for something I can barely use.

I do think this is quality content, just poorly presented. I’d recommend waiting until the app gets fixed to spend money.

Much Better
So I figured out that WiF was causing issues with connecting to the app but once I turned off WiFi it connected just fine.

4 stars because it took me 12 hours to figure out how view the different features like Hint, Pearl and answer. It is not obvious that you have slide the screen down to see these features. Once I figured it out I had to teach a couple classmates that also were unaware of how to use the app.

Adding some instructions on how to use the features or making it obvious that the screen can slid down would make it a 5 star app.

Great App
Great app with excellent content. It's an awesome addition to having the PPP books to supplement my studying for my upcoming PANCE. It's added to my motivation to study. Customer service and IT is exemplary, very personable and professional. I contacted them for help in resolving an issue. IT stayed with me on the phone while troubleshooting until he made sure my problem was resolved and worked not only on my phone but also my tablet (which I didn't even consider), in a short time my issue was pretty easily resolved.

Needs Improvement
UX of this app needs serious improvement. The fact that each little box needs to be clicked and dragged to enlarge is a huge time waster. Sometimes I even have to scroll down for the fifth answer choice. Why not make the text smaller for the questions, answers, and explanations? Also, when I’m on Tutor mode, it doesn’t tell me the correct answer (I.e., it should be highlighted in green); instead, I have to read through the explanation to figure out which on the correct answer is. It would also help to reference PPP pages for the explanations. I’m glad there’s a ton of questions on the app, but the UX is severely lacking and incredible frustrating.
Winnerwinner,
Question overload
This app had me excited because I love the Pance Prep Pearls book, so I expected to feel the same way about the app. I don’t. There are over 11,000 questions in this app - they are split up into sections with some sections containing over 1,000 questions. This would be awesome if there was a way to select sub sections within each over all section (e.g. congenital heart diseases within the cardio section, or antibiotics within the pharm section) but there isn’t. You choose the amount of questions you want and it spits some random ones out at you. This might be helpful if you have infinite free time but it’s not practical for studying a specific subject.
