I believe this Grand Theft Auto inspired game surpasses its inspiration in quality. In this game you play as an unnamed panda who is presented as the city’s hero. This game has a sinister underside however. You, the hero, are allowed the liberty of betraying your duty as the protector. With your powers you can wreak havoc across the city, destroying cars, blowing up property, even committing homicide. Local law enforcement will attempt to seize your rampage, but you are too powerful for them. After all, why else did they pick you to guard the entire region? Endless waves of futile law enforcement desperately employ all firearms and machinery on you; it is complete chaos.
I believe this is more impactful than Grand Theft Auto. In those games you are provided the fact that the character you play as isn’t the most morally aligned; they possess both good and evil characteristics. This allows you to comprehend why the character might do something reckless, or violent. In this game the panda is pure in nature, so what would cause it to take such a drastic turn into such cruelty? This is much scarier as it is not a simple factor of human nature, rather it is something incomprehensible.
Let me take a step back from that mess of emotions. The intended path, the hero path, is equally enjoyable as the dark path. The objectives are not overtly simple, or mindless. They push you to think critically about how you will most efficiently complete the task. You’ll also need to be mindful of your own resources, as they too are limited. It’s the perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment. Overall this game is rich in gameplay, and plot. I recommend you try it out.
