Record & Upload videos – This app version has a more reliable recording and uploading experience. Users will get a more intuitive UI to guide them through their entire video recording and uploading experience. A few specific improvements:
- Users can choose the video quality while recording. The app also shows the available recording length for each quality level based on the amount of free storage on the device.
- Improved UI to clearly show the state of the recording and upload until the video is ready.
- Users can now see their recent uploads in a list on the 'My Stuff' screen and uploads will continue while using the app or even in the background.

The video will continue playing once the Panopto app is back in focus.Please note, there are a couple of limitations that we hope to solve in the future:

Great idea poor execution
The idea of this app is phenomenal. The app itself offers a subpar experience. Why do I still need internet to access offline videos? Why does the sound stop randomly, only to restart the video audio from the beginning even though the video stays at more than half done? Why do the speed controls not work for videos 1/2 the time? So many bugs and errors, I wish my school would switch to something else.

Huge problem to watch a video second time
There is a huge problem that no one seems to do anything about let alone being aware. I am a med student and heavily depend on watching lectures over and over again. And after watching one time with no problem, you cannot continue watching a video from wherever you want once the video falls under the ‘continue watching’ category. System forces you to start over from the beginning sound wise. If you continue you will hear the start of the video even though visually it’s continuing from the last slide. If you fast forward or back to a part where you want to listen then either the sound or the visuals do not match. So overall there is no way around watching a video second time in the mobile app. Please solve this issue. We are planning on petitioning to the Deans office to let panopto go from our lectures.

Slide and recording does not go together, and once you fast forward it, there's no going back and the whole lecture basically become a waste
You guys need to fix it. The recorded lecture have lecture and ppt separated timelines. When I fast forward it's rather only the lecture move to the time I want to while the ppt remains on it's original time line or vice versa. And once you adjust it, the video and the ppt will never ever aligned again.
I need to fast forward for some lectures, and it has to be a usable feature for recorded lectures. The other things are bearable, but this fault in the system is affecting my studying.

Transcription gets in the way of the video
My professor turns on live transcript because some students ask for it (I think it’s what it’s called) and it gets in the way of the video. My professor uses a blackboard so this is a huge deal for me. There needs to be a way of turning it off. The CC feature simply adds subtitles to the screen making it worse. The video platform also isn’t the best. Please fix it 😭

Possibly the worst app for enterprise video comm
This app hardly ever works for users (everyone at my org is issued an iPad). The bugs seem to be unpredictable and plentiful. Endless playback issues, video/audio desynchronization. Blank video, working audio one day. No audio, working screen, no video the next. Headache for our own tech services. Panopto tech services are responsive, but tickets don’t lead to resolutions.
The web interface for users is better, but still buggy. Seriously consider alternative services if you are an iPad/iPhone heavy org.

Great app - but needs AirPlay!
I’m sure there are many college students out there like myself using Panopto for online classes right now. One thing I would really like to see in this app is the ability to airplay content that you’re viewing to your TV. It’d make it a lot easier to follow along with lectures while taking notes at the same time. Especially for students who don’t have more than one device or screen.

Horrible…
There’s a lag between the sound and video when pausing and resuming a video. You can’t resume where you left off. I don’t understand the point of having a download option because I’m still unable to watch these “offline videos” when I’m not connected to internet. Even with the internet, the videos take forever to load and if you use any of the functionalities one too many times, the video starts to glitch. Just a waste…

What a mess
The reason I gave 2 stars is only to acknowledge its existence as an app I need and can technically use. But I can’t pause without the rest of the video lagging. If I rewind the video does not rewind, just the audio. If I fast forward the video is just black with audio. Watching lectures from my phone is a luxury, I am aware. But it’s very hard to learn data modeling if I can’t see the video.

Hi, I am a student who heavily relies on viewing the scrollable transcript (captions) for my several 80+ minute lectures per week when using the desktop version. This version of the app has not demonstrated this capability on any of the videos I’ve checked. This is a must-have accessibility feature, and my operation of this app will be at a serious detriment until this simple feature is implemented.

It’s okay
Not bad, but not great. Some of the controls are very clunky, the video player itself is kinda bad and could definitely use tweaks. Most importantly this app can definitely use airplay, I would even say this app needs it. Especially because of what this app is designed to do, airplay support should’ve been thought of a long time ago.
