Update Ruined Game
Who ever decided to move the veiw point for the update should be fired. The update takes this from one of my favorite golf games to the worst. No way to zoom in without the birdseye view, the swing meter is so small you canot acurrately guage it, just terrible.

Needs Work...But could be good......
This game has nice graphics but needs some functional upgrades. The distances to the hole it gives are way off. You can't stick any greens with back spin or loft with your short irons, and using a rolling approach to the greens is often impossible. The game does not allow for fades or draws, which takes some strategy out of the game and does not allow for more creative and aggressive shots, for the virtual golfer who is feeling "lucky" that day. Also, the game needs MANY more courses, three just doesn't cut it. GL Golf is more expensive and doesn't look quite as slick, but it plays MUCH better (closer to EA Sports Tiger Woods game). GL is the golf game I replay over and over. When I return to this game once in a while. It is cute for a round or so, and I'm back on the GL courses. Still, with its setbacks, this game has some fun elements, a nice look, and overall potential. But it is in dire need of the aforementioned fixes to be anything golfers can appreciate and replay a lot.

I really enjoy this game, simple, easy to use and fun to play. However, it seems the developers have jus disappeared.

Unfortunately, not a good golf game.
I really wanted to like Par 72 as I have been clamoring for a good golf game for my iPhone and this seemed to be it. That was not the case.
My review will echo many of the others on here. This game is, simply put, terrible. There is no evidence of any type of physics in this game. I can cite example after example, but will only point out wind. Wind has either has no bearing or the exact opposite bearing, sending the ball the complete opposite direction of where you are told the wind is blowing.
Stay away from Par 72, it is not ready for prime time. It is very evident that the developer was much more concerned with arbitrarily filling a whole in the iPhone/iPod Touch game market and making a quick profit than it was in developing a quality, strong game.

Good start
At least there is one golf game app to buy. Sometimes I get the feeling that whomever put this together has never played golf before. Simple things like a SCORECARD would be nice. Also seeing that golf is a competition, some kind of opponent would be a welcome addition. The course designs are a little bizzare and the landscapes sometimes appear to be inspired by the scifi channel rather than the golf channel. From the birdseye view it is tough to tell where some of the physical hazards are. Also please don't make the shot meter tanslucent, but do make it permanently on screen. I remember an original gameboy golf game I used to play that was more detailed than this and let you spin/draw/fade shots.
That said I think that this is a fair start and I look forward to seeing where this game goes as updates progress. Or maybe a different game will be better.

Buy It!
Trust me, after owning golf games that date back to the first links game for the pc to the latest Tiger Woods for Xbox360, this game is good! I was waiting to buy this app after already buying GL golf because the reviews were not that good for this one. Since they dropped the price $3, I said what the heck. I am so glad I bought it! I would rather play this game all day long compared to the GL golf app. There's something about actually having a golfer in the game swinging the club as opposed to the GL game where it's just the club. This game is not that easy, it's tough to break par on the 3 courses. Get it!

Basic but good
Since it's the ONLY golf game for the iPhone we have to say its the best. It does need some work and the price is a bit high for the finished product but overall it's a solid game. I wasnt expecting the greatest game ever so i wasnt disappointed. I just returned from a business trip and this game kept me occupied and entertained while traveling.
I've played many golf games and have to say this is not the best but it's still pretty good. It would be nice to have a better interface and outdoor sounds for starters. The developer did a fine job with this first to market golf game for the iPhone. I hope we see an upgrade soon.

Not a bad game at all, just needs a little work
I was very wary because of all the bad reviews, but went ahead and bought it anyway. This isn't a bad game, the graphics need some work, most definitely, but the controls aren't bad, it's not terribly hard and it really helps you kill time. It's not as fun as golf on the Wii (which I love), but it's good. I wish you could flick your finger or in some way use the accelerometer, it would be a lot more fun.
Bottom line, it's good, but 8 bucks? maybe a little expensive. I'd definitely buy it again if they dropped the price. I hope that there's an update soon.

Used to it
Granted its not as good as GL Golf which is a lot like EA Tiger Woods Golf, but I liked playing this on my deceased palm pilot, and they did a great job re-creating it. That is the ONLY reason I paid the 7 bucks or whatever for it. It may be worth taking a flyer at 2 dollars if you like golf games, but when it goes back up in price, don't bother, just get GL Golf instead. I think this is one of those developers that is used to charging a premium for palm device games, and have priced themselves right out of the market here at the apple store.

Par 72 Golf!
I had this game on my old Nokia n95 8gb! and had alot of fun with it! Yes the ball goes off the mark if you let the bars go all the way to the top. but that is normal. It did it in the nokia also! I find no difference in how they play between both phones. It runs just fine on the iphone 3g!!!! It plays exactly the same way as the nokia did! save the touch screen. Thanks for bringing one of my favorite games to the iphone so that I can pass the time when I am bored!!!
