Note: Unfortunately you’ll be required to re-sign into the app to continue using it. We’ve improved the sign in process though to make it easier than ever. This wasn’t something that could be helped, sorry!

We’re going national and with this release anyone can unlock their local community feed in Parenthoods.

While our app crash rate is incredibly low, we're going to spend even more time on bug fixes in the next release - we know how annoying it can be when the app crashes!

*Communities/Filters*
- San Francisco users can now opt to follow additional communities (or all 'Hooders) from the Preferences view.
- Users outside of San Francisco now see posts from all 'Hooders to make way for a better local solution in the next version of the app
- New Activities filters (in the Preferences view) for Bay Area users to see activities from multiple regions
- Added the ability to hide the "we're still growing" banner.
- We'll now let you know if you view a profile of someone that you've not Favorited and isn't in your community

*Bug Fixes*
- Fixed a lots of common crashes
- Partially fixed an issue that caused missing content if you'd not been on the app in the past ~24h (this will happen less frequently, still working on a full fix)
- Fix for the Feed returning to the top each time you open the app
- Fix for issue with deep links not opening sometimes from a completely closed application
- Significantly reduced the energy consumption of the app
- Fix for iOS 7 users crashing on start
- Fix for Event and Profile image uploads
- Fix for discounts not updating after changing cities
- The Activities tab no longer continually refreshes the who's interested face pile

*UI Tweaks*
- "Report" has been relabelled “Report…” to emphasize that there’s another step
- Triple digit comment and like counts now show correctly
- Minor tweaks so there’s less spinners after changing your location
- Prevent "Try again" alert from showing multiple times when closing and opening the app when the server is down
- Removed the alert asking whether you wish to receive push notifications when someone you’ve favorited posts (while we figure out a better solution)
- Fix for top padding of the post detail (comments view) in 9.1
- Fixed the pull to refresh position for cities that are still growing

*Other*
- Search now shows for everyone
- Search now returns more results (This is quick fix - a more robust solution to come)
- Added check when logging in and signing up to make sure you don't already have a user account of the opposite type (i.e. facebook vs password) so you don't sign in with the wrong account type.
- Updated third party frameworks to include their bug fixes
- Slightly improved loading time of the app

Note: Once you've started using 2.0 you'll no longer be able to use previous versions of Parenthoods (so be sure to upgrade to 2.0 on all devices).

What's New:
- Parents tab is now labelled "Community"
- "Similar" users in the "Community" tab (we'll continue to improve this - the more complete your profile is the better we can be at our suggestions)
- "Favorite" users to prioritise them in the feed and get back to them more easily
- New content is now sorted by a combination of popularity and relevance (unless your Feed is sorted by time)
- iOS 9 compatibility
- iOS 9 support for universal links (so that links open in the app immediately rather than Safari)
- iPhone 6S 3D Touch Quick Actions

- Meetup RSVP facepile is now sorted by whether someone is going or not and the most recent first

With 1.7 we're introducing two new types of activity that allow you to organize planned and spontaneous meetups that 'Hooders can RSVP to.

With 1.6 we're introducing identity verification. Verifying your identity is an easy way to build trust in the Parenthoods community. We'll show your verification status on your profile, in direct messages/notifications, and within Classifieds/Childcare posts. As always, we'll be improving on this in the future so keep the feedback coming!

We've also revamped the Activities tab so that it's much easier to browse all activities or just those you've saved. The event detail view has also been updated with a fresh new design. Finally, you can now propose new events from the post button (that's the big button at the bottom of the app!) and see who's interested in going.

1.6 also includes:

- You can now change your email from the Edit Profile area
- Change password has moved to the Edit Profile area
- Tapping a second time on any tab will now scroll the content of that tab to the top

**Discuss Tab Sorting**
This time round we're tweaking your feed a little. Any new posts since you last opened the app will appear sorted by what's popular (we'll be tweaking this calculation I'm sure!). Any new posts that come in while you're using the app will then appear in chronological order (just like before). This is not competitive though - the order will be different for each 'hooder depending on when they opened the app. A setting to revert back to the traditional order can be found in the app settings!


**Deep Links**
What are deep links? Well, they're our way of sending you to the part of the app that's relevant.

- Received a push notification? Swipe/tap it and it'll open the app and send you directly to the post/message the notification was for.
- Shared a post with a friend/partner? They can now tap on the link and the app will open, then show the content you shared.
- Shared a post with someone who doesn't have the app yet? Not a problem - if they use the link they'll be first taken to the App Store. Then after becoming a fellow 'hooder, we'll figure out what content they were meant to be shown in the first place and show them just that.
- What about friends who view a link on the desktop? They can now see an anonymized version of the post on the web.


**Mute Users**
We're taking small steps here as we're not seeing too much need for it but if you do want to mute someone then they'll stop seeing your posts and you'll stop seeing theirs, plus you won't get notified if they send you a direct message.


**What you've missed - email**
At the end of each day we're going to send you an email. Not just any email, and definitely not an email with everything from Parenthoods that day (which would be a lot!). The email will contain everything we think you've missed in the 24h prior. So if you receive a comment on your post and never saw the notification or viewed the post, it'll be included in the email.


We know that these emails aren't for everyone so we've made sure you can customize them to your liking or turn them off completely. Give them a chance though, we love them already!


**UI Tweaks**
The most obvious things you'll notice are our new logo and welcome screen. There's lots of other small tweaks too.


**Push Notification Settings**
We've changed the point at which we ask you to enable push notifications as we know you may not wish to turn them on at first.

If you do enable them though, we've made sure there's settings for all the different types of notifications you may receive - tinker away!


**Bug/Crash Fixes**
We've squashed all bugs/crashes we know of - aren't we nice :)


**Performance**
We spent a fair bit of time on the Discuss tab and Comments view making sure they're super smooth. This task never ends though so we'll keep at it!


**Real-time**
Comments, messages, and notifications were already updating in real time but now the comment and like counts for posts are too.

Introducing the Parents Tab
We've created a new tab so that you to quickly find other hooder's and easily see who else is in your neighborhood. Why not send them a Direct Message to say "Hey!".
